I downloaded my minister's certificate from the Universal Life Church a coupla days ago. For $24.99, I'm getting my framable official hand-signed certificate with real gold-leaf seal, a 'minister' badge, a wallet-size credential, and a parking placard. I can now perform a variety of ceremonies and park in no parking zones. I think Reverend Doc Oliver Headzencards and I will grow a mega-church in Burbank. Oliver, give me a call. I've got a proposal for you.

(Just funnin' around. wink and happy )

Happy to see that you're all right.

You've been kinda scarce and something you said a short while back had me worried that you were having some family problems.

Who doesn't have some family problems now and then, ay? happy But no, nothing earth-shaking or life-changing.

I'm gearing up for my big annual party for women hunters. My 17th year sponsoring it. It's this coming Saturday. So much to do, so little time. The story of my life. happy

On the same day you were partying, I joined my neighbour in his citizenship ceremony. We celebrated at Max Bremmer's..do you have them over there? A sickening chocolate fix with total disregard to the thing I don't really worry too much about...so no BGL testing done that day. An Italian hot dark-chocolate drink with a cake that oozes liquid chocolate from its centre. At least I left the chocoalte pizza alone. happy

But the excess sugar circulating may have caused me to also pursue the ULC too. I was ordained at 11.19pm, Friday, your time...4.19pm Saturday AEDST. happy ABC Actually, my oath of office as a JP finds me agreeing to pretty similar stuff. Following the law, doing no harm to others, accepting full freedom of religious practice.

I read further that West Virginia accepts ULC pretty well routinely so that marriage ceremonies etc are performed. Unfortunately, it is not a recognised denomination here.

I think there's a Max Brenner's in New York. With all the wonderful chocolate fair you listed, it sounds like just the place I'd frequent - often. Was Brenner's your neighbor's place of choice to celebrate, or his wife's?

I admit to consuming a large amount of Hershey's Chocolate Kisses the day I sought ordination. There must be some spiritual connection with chocolate! happy Betcha pastor Bri eats his share. (wink)

My son and his wife were married by a nondenomination 'minister' here at my home in a lovely outdoor ceremony with over 250 attending. He had no affiliation to any physical church. He was registered as 'Christian'. I reckon he was a ULC or similarly ordained minister. We'd called around weeks in advance to many mainstream churches, but no pastors or priests would officiate. And no JPs either. I suppose 'outdoor' was too unconventional for them. So, there IS a niche for my service. Based on the fee he charged, I can make $200 an hour. I'll talk real slow. Tee hee. happy

His wife's...heavily influenced by our visit there July last year celebrating my birthday. happy

My brother is a legally accredited marriage celebrant. In replying to his personal email a few minutes ago, I note he needs to provide his formal quals to me: JP, CMC, AFCC, CDP but I don't feel tempted to give him the honour by return email.

But he commands around $AUD3-400 a service. Reasonably competitive and he offers a free gift or memento of some sort. Yet to be fully employed.

What? You're not totally wowed by his professional title acronyms? Tee hee. Most people don't know what the letters stand for anyway, so why bother including em.

I despair of ever getting through to my brother, the good AFCC.

I got him on the phone today to sort out what's going on after I'm trying to organise a family re-union including him. Apart from some atrocious insults, he had emailed last night:
For 10 years I suffered badly from depression, very much so; and my little brother with his so so pure heart, never offered one word of support; only criticism ie slipping in another most aggregious fib.

He tells me his bipolar has been re-diagnosed Major Depression. I talked him into attending the re-union spending another 3 hours working through his issues. I have a sense of impending doom not only for the re-union but for his future celebrant duties and feel buggered to coin a technical term!

Is this a form of familial patriotism to turn back to topic? happy

PHD of BS (wink)

I'm on my way to having a Master's in BM but now won't be sharing my ordination news with said brother despite the bovine melena within me.
