- Batista
I'm not defending Batista. But does a bad dictator justify embracing a second bad dictator?
In my opinion, the Cuban people traded corrupt capitalism for a flawed economic system (socialism) backed up by a rigid and power-hungry authoritarianism. You can call that an "improvement" if you want, but I call it continued misery and exploitation.

- Democracy
King Jesus refers to Jesus' kingdom, which is NOT of this world - not at this time anyway. When he returns, that's a different story. But it's not up to us to use political means to hasten that return. So, really, Pink, that's a cheap shot on your part.
As to democracy, most Christians that I know are all for democracy.
I do think it's worth noting Churchill's quote, however...
"Democracy is the worst form of government...
...except for all the others."
I agree w/ Churchill.

Beyond a doubt, democracy is the best form of government. But, in our present situation our Rights as American citizens have been removed by a dictator.

The REAL war is the one our present administration is waging against We The People of The United States of America!

I suppose we should bring up the 13th chapter of the Apostle Paul's Letter To The Romans on which many of the devout rest their case that government is NEVER to be questioned regardless of how it gets to come into existence; because, the reason any government exists is that God put it in place.

- Democracy
Since I have no hope of persuading you, I'll just acknowledge your post with a statement of disagreement.
I disagree George W. Bush is a dictator, and I disagree that he is leading some kind of war against the people of the United States.
As for Romans 13, there are two interpretations. One is the "Divine Right of Kings" interpretation (to which you are referring) and the other is the (for lack of a better description) the "Rule of Law" interpretation, in which the INSTITUTION of government is the focal point. I am in that latter camp.
