- How You Define Truth
You're jumping several steps ahead. I'm saying that it is possible for a person to establish OBJECTIVE truth. And, more importantly, I'm saying that OBJECTIVE (meaning that it's externally valid) truth exists!
AS to how I personally define truth...I give you this example. I know OBJECTIVELY that Jane (my wife) is real. I know OBJECTIVELY her age, appearance, and other information on her and her life. Based on this knowledge and my experience with her, I have made a decision to TRUST her. Therefore, I know that when she says "I love you," that she means it. I know it, because I trust her. Thus, my knowledge of her love is based on my decision to trust her.
Some of my Christian faith is based on my TRUST in God. In that sense, you are correct. But some of it is based on objective fact.

OBJECTIVE SMOGJECTIVE!

Personally, I like to deal with just plain truth so I don't have to guess what anyone is saying.
.
I do know the difference between truth and non-truth.

Get any good pictures? LOL
I don't think they were expecting crowds that big there.
I wouldn't mind visiting it if I'm ever in the State and in that area. It sounds interesting, but I don't know how reliable the information within the museum is.
So tell me, would you say it's worth travelling half way across the world to visit? How does it rank against other yankee museums (did I mention I love museums?)?

Pink, as long as you are admitting that there are "truths" and "non-truths" (and that these categories are NOT based on an individual's personal perception, but on tangible reality), then we are in agreement.

I would say that it is NOT worth traveling half way across the world to see it. If you come to the States for something else, and find yourself within a day's drive, then, it's probably worth a visit.
As a Christian, I appreciated the museum. But, it's too "in your face," in my opinion, to be effective in persuading anyone to change his or her mind. It's more evangelistic than scientific. But...it IS helpful for a Christian Creationist to see how evolutionists and creationists look at the same evidence and come to different conclusions. It does a good job of showing how presuppositions influence how one comes down on the issues of origins.
