- Reality Is Reality
In that case...bringing us back into the focus of this thread, I believe we (as a human race) are aware of enough information to reasonably deduce that the universe has a Creator. Can we know that God exists with absolute 100% certainty? No. Can we know that God exists "beyond a reasonable doubt"? Absolutely.

It makes just as much sense to say that the universe IS the creator for, what do we know about what it is. Maybe it even makes more sense as it is made of the necessary stuff whatever THAT is.

- Nonsense
Sorry, that makes "NON-sense."
The only way that the universe could create itself would be that the universe itself constituted (as the ancients coined the term) a "Necessary Being." And that would be pantheism. Obviously, I'm not a pantheist, but it makes more sense than atheism. Atheism is completely and totally untenable as an explanation.

- Religious Freedom
Don't push my view to the extreme of the congresswoman who uses a congressional hearing for berating someone for believing in something - and implying that he shouldn't have the right to believe it or the freedom of speech to express it. I'm not advocating censorship here, Pink. I believe STRONGLY in religious freedom. (I would argue it's the OTHER side that has problems with religious freedom, but that is another subject).

- Necessary Being
I'm hardly alone in pointing out that there HAS to be a "Necessary Being." It's irrational and illogical to challenge that point.
For those observing this, here's a great speech (or an excerpt from a speech) by philosopher William Lane Craig...

I don't challenge that point.

To say that all creation is that "necessary being" is only one way of looking at things. Basically, it is what some thinkers call the One.
.
And, so, can we put a limit on what God is? Must we box God in so that [He] is what some O.T. celebrity wrote [Him] into being?

- Pantheism
The idea that the universe itself is this "Necessary Being" - this viable, living, supernatural entity - is essentially pantheism. It's popular and it's certainly more plausible than atheism. I'll grant you that.

Gotta go and work out.

Have a great day. A little cooler today; but, summer is on the way and we'll soon be happy as larks on their way.

I know I will.
.
But, my plans are to be in Florida the first full week of May.
