» pink101 - A Short Little Sermon

.
Just because a person doesn't believe the Bible is the Revealed Word of God, here is a little sermon I think can be very useful to everyone regardless if they are an Atheist or a Muslim, Jew, or Christian.

It IS more powerful.
.
The Bible also tells us that the people die where there is no vision.
.
There is a GREAT deal of WISDOM in the Book.
.
But, when you take the religiosity literally, you and everyone with whom you have influence suffers.

» redback - Culpability

"Hence, Man was not the 'first cause' of evil in the world. God was - by creating it..."

But man did not have to inhale...or sell it...or turn a blind eye to it...or compromise with it, though! happy

"Ignorance, the root and stem of every evil."
PLATO

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." (Isaiah 45:7, KJV)

"Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone." (James 1:13)

The creator of evil is not evil just as much as Henry Ford was not a car.

I always cite sources if I can. Maybe you should now quote me on it?

Plato had it right, IMO. The first humans were ignorant of evil until after the fact -- after they'd committed it, by obtaining the knowledge of it.

In response to Culpability posted by Migisi:
.
Language is the tool that gives us our ability to conceive reality. Without language, there can be no concept for evil or anything else.
.
The first ideas were drawn in the dirt.
.
"Let there be light" is an example of how language works. Until there is a symbol for light, the human mind cannot conceive of it. Words are symbols.
.
Plain and simple.
