It remains in your gut for a week and that's where the sore spot is.

By the way, how many fruitcake fans are there here? My wife loves fruitcake - and makes it every year. It remains a sore spot in our relationship. :-)
I'm one of the few people in the world (along with you wife) who actually loves fruit cake!!! I'll email you my addy and you can snailmail me your portion. (wink) ![]()
peace and love,

I didn't check this topic pre Xmas so a belated return greetings to all. I mentioned in another topic my wishes are for all seasons. I think Pink called me spiderman somewhere...surely a real American hero..and Migisi...a red spider. The American mouse spider has a red head whereas the OZ redback has a red bottom. Maybe some confusion between my bum and my head...or where I come from??? ABC
?
I got my sole Xmas present...from a stranger.

In one of my businesses, I gave all the members of my client organizations one of those "Grandma's Fruitcakes" every Christmas time. They are delicious; but, oh, boy! They weigh a ton. If I recall, part of the curing was done with Kentucky Bourbon.

In response to Merry Christmas everyone posted by pink101:Rather than start a new topic, I thought I'd extend the spirit of the new year to this one to you all...or is that y'all?
It seems to me there is some similarity in 'hope springs eternal' from these 2 seasons.
My hope is that I need no further reminders of others being worse off than me. My single parent mate (a symbolic international example) took his 13 year old daughter away for a week long break a cuppla days ago...only to find she had arranged per internet to be picked up from the holiday destination on day 1 and spirited away to the...Sunshine Coast.
20 years ago, I remember being in a highrise motel room... with family...past midnight...enjoying spectactular views over Sydney Harbour & Austrralia's Bicentenary Celebrations and fireworks. Today, spirit willing, body weak...I'll hopefully be asleep well before midnight.
But to all of you of greater stamina for the midnight to dawn...all the very best.
4pm New Year's Eve

Here it is, December 31, 2007, and about 10 minutes 'til 9 A.M. in Michigan, and--it's already January 1, 2008, in the Land of OZ.
.
Yupper, Happy New Year to you, Red. And, many more in the offing.
