You aren't saying, "Bah, humbug!", are you?
Not at all. But if one can't say something nice (like 'Happy Holidays') lest he offend the Christians, better to say nothing at all.

In a recent press conference, I heard the greatest Christian of our time say, "Happy Holidays", as he closed the session.

'Bah humbug' is an OK greeting to me from those who don't toe any "approved" line including spending requisite $ in presents. The cards I send for less response usually have Happy Xmas or Merry Xmas where X marks many a spot doesn't it?
Aaaah, Christmas...where my rellies want to see me at least for one day out of 365.

- For the record..
What gets me is that our society is trying to push "Christmas" out of the public culture and into the privacy of homes and churches.
Like this nonsense...

Come on! It's Christmas. And if people, including Presidents and presidential candidates, want to wish people a "Merry Christmas" and (yes) refer to Christ, let them! It shouldn't be a big deal.

If someone wishes me "Happy Holidays," I'm not offended.

Good. Happy Holidays to you, Bri. ![]()

From your linked article: "Catholic League president Bill Donahue said Huckabee went beyond wishing people a joyous holiday."
.
Why should Catholics object to anyone saying 'Merry Christmas'? Catholics have been saying it for centuries! Billy sees a bookcase as a crucifix? Pulease! I do like Huckleberry's response... "I will confess this: If you play the [ad] spot backwards it says, 'Paul is dead. Paul is dead.'" Hee hee. That's clever.

I couldn't agree more. Merry Christmas, Bri.
