Read what Jesus says in the Gospels about honoring the Sabbath. Two principles stick out.

One (and my liberal friends will like me for saying this) is that Jesus elevates the SPIRIT of the law higher than the letter of the law.

And two Jesus identifies Himself as the fulfillment of the law (and in the case of the Sabbath) as the "Lord of the Sabbath" (a clear assertion, btw, of his Deity).

Now, we have to chew on that. I don't see how someone can look at what Jesus said about the mosaic law - and then conclude that we should go BACK to the Old Testament and try to impose everything in the mosaic law to today.

And that's JUST based on what JESUS says. I haven't even gotten to the Apostle Paul - or the book of Hebrews (likely written by Paul too).
