» pink101 - Fasten Your Seat-Belts

.
After 76 years, I've seen a lot of electioneering.
.
But, I have to say, never anything like what appears to be happening now.
.
I think something strange and different is taking place in America's political scene--very strange.
.
Limits are being pushed and there could be trouble before the final climax this coming November.
.
Fasten your seat-belts.

» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Republican Split Building

In response to Fasten Your Seat-Belts posted by pink101:

Things are moving rapidly toward a deep split in the Republican Party that will probably guarantee a win for the Democrats in 2008. Check out this op-ed.

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/colum...

It articulates very well why I support Mike Huckabee.

But, I frankly see the GOP splitting into three camps - the traditional / pro-business wing, the Judeo-Christian / family values wing, and the Ron Paul libertarians. I don't think any of the Republican candidates are strong enough to unite those three factions.

Not just the Republican Party; but, our entire society is split.

The dirty and nasty insult about liberals has been hurting our society for a long time.

» pink101 - Michigan's Primary

.
Michigan's primary election will be held tomorrow. Pretty much it is strictly a Republican primary as two contending Democrats, Obama and Edwards, have pulled their names off the ballots.
.
So, who should I vote for? Our choice for Democrat is Clinton, Kucinic, or uncommitted. But, we can do some mischief by voting for a Republican and that will throw the odds off. That might be what happened in New Hamshire. Write ins will cause the ballot to be voided.
.
I think I might vote for Huckabee--then, again, I might just vote for Ron Paul. I could vote for Romney or McCain. I voted for Romney's father. He was a good governor.

Obama and Edwards withdrew? The way I heard it (on CNN this morning), there wouldn't be a Dem primary in Michigan because Michigan bumped the primary date up. What's that about?

You're correct on that.

Now, the focus on the presidential race turns to the southern part of the United States. Eyes are now on South Carolina.

Predictions?

I think it's a MUST-win for Huckabee, if he hopes to remain a contender for the nomination. Right now, it appears he's tied with McCain. Tough to call.
