» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Israel

In response to Israel posted by pink101:

Okay, done.

Scholars and theologians have been chewing on that passage for centuries. Unlikely you and I are going to sort it all out in this Internet discussion board. happy

The basic outline of the Gospel remains unchanged, however, as does Paul's other statement that there is no longer Jew or Greek, but the same Lord is rich unto all who call upon Him. That is also in Romans, you know.

» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - The Way To Change

In response to The Way To Change posted by pink101:

This election (like most elections) will NOT be decided on substance, but rather on PERCEPTION. For that reason, Obama will win - and probably win by a landslide.

Were this election to be decided on substance, then we would see a much higher caliber of candidates from BOTH parties.

We don't live in an age that would elect Washingtons, Jeffersons, and Lincolns anymore. Sadly.

I will pay close attention to Ralph Nader and consider voting for him depending on his platform as it becomes known.

If you want some dirt on Obama, here it is:

This one ought to let you know to what lengths some people will go in order to scare the wits out of the American public.
.
If you find some substance in the video's idea that Obama is a wolf in sheep's clothing, let me know.

» Migisi - The Way to Beat Obama

In response to The Way to Beat Obama posted by BrianTubbs:
.
...there are some voters who are committed to either Hillary or Obama simply because they believe it's time to make history.
.
Or simply because they believe it's time for a big CHANGE from the status quo -- supporting a candidate who's not a member of the good ol' white boys' club in Washington. Indeed, THAT change would make history.
.
It WOULD be racist and/or sexist to say that this is the ONLY reason why either is drawing support.
.
That's exactly the implication I got from Shapiro's remark. Read it again: "...many Americans are so eager to elect an African-American president, they don't care whether the candidate is qualified."
.
If you were managing McCain's campaign and you were probing for weakness in your opponent, what would you do?
.
If I couldn't find one, I'd make something up. Oh wait, Obama's opponents have tried that and it hasn't worked.
.
And he's saying that Obama's weakness is how he beats "change" like a dead horse in all his campaign speeches, flyers, press releases, etc.
.
That's NOT a weakness, Bri. It's called BASIC marketing. Clearly, it's working. Slogans are great for product or service name recognition. Obama is the product.
.
If the GOP can find a way to take the "change" mantra and turn it back on Obama, they have a chance.
.
Fraid not, Bri. No chance for the GOP this time 'round... thanks to Bush's blunders. McCain's gonna have to come up with (and repeat constantly) a catchy slogan himself if he's going to revive his campaign. His 'He'll lead you into the 21st century" slogan is a snore. It's as antiquated as McCain is. I like this one: "John McCain--When One Face Just Isn't Enough". Or maybe this one: "John McCain 2008 - Because there are still some countries we haven't bombed." My favorite: "John McCain 2008 - 'Cause I'm What's Left!"

Well, that clinches it for me! I'm NOT voting for McPain. (Tee hee).
.
I assume you read their linked article:
Some hateful, radical ministers -- white evangelicals -- are acceptable
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2...
Quoting from it:
"From Christian Palestinian Daoud Kuttab in The New York Times (h/t PZ Meyers):
.
'A small minority of evangelical Christians have entered the Middle East political arena with some of the most un-Christian statements I have ever heard. . . . [Rev.] Hagee, a popular televangelist who leads the 18,000-member Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, ratcheted up his rhetoric this year with the publication of his book, "Jerusalem Countdown," in which he argues that a confrontation with Iran is a necessary precondition for Armageddon (which will mean the death of most Jews, in his eyes) and the Second Coming of Christ. In the best-selling book, Hagee insists that the United States must join Israel in a preemptive military strike against Iran to fulfill God's plan for both Israel and the West.'
.
"Hagee believes that "the president's support for Israel fulfills a biblical injunction to protect the Jewish state," which "will play a pivotal role in the second coming." These views are not unrelated to Hagee's support for McCain. Quite the contrary; Hagee cited McCain's so-called "pro-Israel views," his belligerence towards Iran, and his social conservatism as reasons for the endorsement." (end)
.
A preemptive military strike against Iran is according to God's plan. Now that's the Hebrew war God we're all familiar with, isn't it. Hagee and McPain are nut cakes!!

Of course he would endorse McBush if only for his little joke when he sang, Bomb, Bomb Iran.
