but, why do you think it is true?
.
It's a reporter's livelihood to generate stories to fill the pages and airwaves. The more controversial, the better the viewership and ratings. It's about money, not truth. Foller the dollar.

» pink101 - To Clarify It

In response to Media Bias posted by BrianTubbs:
.
I had posted, The press is able to get through to the people using its ability to dominate their thinking. It manipulates us. The politicians shirk their responsibilities to work toward helping us understand how easily we are hoodwinked. Why do you think that is true?
.
To clarify it, the question was, "Why Brian thought it is true that the politicians shirk their responsibilities to work toward helping the people understand that the press is hoodwinking us?" it was not about how the press makes money.
.

» Migisi - Farrakhan and Obama?

.
Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, sang Obama's praises to 20,000 of his members at NOI's 'Savior's Day' (founder Fard Muhammad is 'Savior') at McCormick Place in Chicago. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jsH78... Is this good or bad for Obama? Well, it guarantees 20,000 votes for Obama.
.
Earlier in January, Obama's church sang Farrakhan's praises. Obama is a member of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. Trinity puts out Trumpet Newsmagazine - which gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award "to a man it said 'truly epitomized greatness'..... to Farrakhan, of all people! Jeremiah Wright is Obama's spiritual advisor!
.
Farrakhan is ~renown~ for his highly offensive, racist (anti-white) and anti-semitic remarks. He preaches total separatism of black and non-black cultures.
.
Obama's response?
http://fallbackbelmont.blogspot.com/2008...
"Farrakhan's fulsome praise is especially interesting because Barack Obama pointedly "distanced" himself both from Farrakhan and his [Obama's] pastor, Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. in the following statement:
.
"I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan. I assume that Trumpet Magazine made its own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree." (end quote)
.
Smart move. Obama's not dumb. He knows he'd lose white and Jewish voters if he accepted Farrakhan's endorsement.
.
Elections bring out all kinds of endorsements from some rather unsavory types ... Billary - Ted 'Chappaquiddick' Kennedy, Barack - Louis 'Nation of Racism' Farrakhan.

.
Well, the quadranial Ralph Nader is back and it's deja-vu all over again.
.
He claims that party politics has just about destroyed our government and that it's time for a "Jeffersonian Revolution" to get our system back for the people.
.
He might be correct; but, how will his running for office help us out of the fix we're in?

Very likely. Putting up with mean rhetoric from his own party members and the other guys takes a lot of stamina. I hope he gives back as much as he gets. There's truth to the saying 'nice guys finish last'.

I've always liked the man. He has a LONG history of championing for the people. He IS a do-er.

An Unreasonable Man
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS1c5Ei0e...
.
He describes the two-party system as "one corporate party with two heads". Ain't that the truth!!
.
With the big increase in youthful voters who are really concerned about their future (they ~should~ be), ya never know!
.
A woman, an African American, and an Arab American running for President. Who'd a thunk it could ever happen!

.
In the movie, A Few Good Men, defense attorney Lt. Kaffee (Tom Cruse) demands, "I want the truth!" Col. Jessup (Jack Nicholson) responds, "You can't handle the truth!"
.
Do we really want the truth? And can we 'handle it' once we have it?
.
I'll be back later. I've got to go 'handle' some snow drifts.
