In response to I lIked What posted by Migisi:
.
I received a broadcast email the other day with this quote at the end:
.
"I'll tell you what war is all about; you've got to kill people, and when you've killed enough they stop fighting."
Gen. Curtis LeMay
.
I responded that I'd be ashamed to circulate such a hate mongering message. And, I was excoriated by the person closest to me for having voiced my opinion. I was told my response was poisonous. Heh heh heh. They didn't see condoning genocide as being poisonous. Go figure. Ideology can be a terrible master.

From two Commander and Chiefs:
.
"War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children." - Jimmy Carter
.
"I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it." - Dwight D. Eisenhower

Well, I did it. I voted for Obama. My hubby voted for his favorite Republican, Ron Paul. Good choice, IMO. Too bad Ron doesn't have any chance getting the Republican endorsement.

Ohio votes March 4, but it's already pretty much decided on the GOP side.

Being a Michigander, we didn't have the choice to vote for Edwards or Obama--only Billary, so I voted "uncommitted".
.
Other than that, i could have done some political mischief by voting for McPain or some other goof ball.

Maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand how changing the primary date disqualifies the other candidates. Can you vote 'uncommitted'? I've never seen that bubble on a ballot. Or maybe I just didn't pay attention to it?
.
I heard that in states where the primary dates had been changed, voters who were unaware of the change showed up on the 'usual' date anyway -- too early or too late to cast their ballots.
.
Can anyone tell me WHY some states changed their primary dates in the first place?

.
I think the Michigan Democratic Party members had it in their minds that they could influence the nation by moving our primary date up.
.
The national organization didn't want that to take place; so, the Democratic Central Committee here in Michigan lost out.
.
When Geoffry Feiger ran for governor here, he upset the status quo and things haven't been the same since. The party is split; but, it's getting over it. Combine Feiger with the way the UAW has been decimated by the auto industry's exodus to China and you get the foundation of the split. I also think that GeeDubya's influence on the Shop Rats here in Michigan has added to the split. You might know that Shop Rats that didn't lose their jobs to China voted strongly for GeeDubya.
.
Feiger is the Detroit lawyer that defended Dr. Jack Kevorkian..

.
I cannot imagine a Billary vs a McPain choice this fall.
.
Worse! I cannot imagine either one of them being president.
.
McPain will go crazy with his finger on the nuclear button and Billary will be a mirror image of Insane George.
