I agree, McCain IS all about war. I've had a belly full of that, as I think most Americans have. Frankly, I don't think it really matters which candidate the Repuglicans choose. I think we'll be looking at a Democrat in the White House - thanks to GW Shrub.

The minute the people of a nation allow their ideologies to direct their choices in their international relationships, trouble has come out of its box.

When wars are fought on the basis of "my God versus your god", there will be no end to the conflict. It will cross international borders and the nation will be driven by the ideology most representative of the majority and against any ideology with which they cannot find a common basis. So, that war will no longer be confined to societies within national borders; but, it will be opposed to enemies based on ideological differences. As long as anyone is left who believes in a different God that the Living God of the Bible, we must erase their presence from the face of the earth-God demands it.

I must admit that I get incredible anxiety every time the presidency changes. I'm terrified of what the next one will do or not do for the country! But Obama seems to be a decent man. Hillary gives me nightmares.

Weren't we supposed to be a separation of church and state in the US? I think it would be better if the presidential candidates weren't allowed to state their religious affiliation. Or allow it to affect any decisions made in office... asking a lot, I imagine!

Now back to kitties - I will try to check in from time to time and see if I can make sensible conversation any more

Actually, I want to know EVERYTHING about the candidates, cuz it ALL impacts their thinking and possible direction, IMO.

More like asking the impossible. It would be nice though. I'd like to see a candidate surround himself with a variety of advisors from all races, creeds, and ideologies who'd have input into decisions. Then I'd feel we had a truly representative government. But I won't put any bets on that happening, no matter who's elected. Seems most want clones of themselves around them.

It's primary day here. I'll be going to cast my ballot for Obama soon. God help me in my choice, and God help my country!

I liked a lot of Kucinich and Ron Paul's ideas. I took a 'vote match' test this morning. Obama and I differed only on 2 of 24 points. Heck... my husband and I differ on MOST points, and I still like him.

Hee hee. The ~politically~ correct term is 'nontheist'. But in order for world peace to work, there'd have to be a nontheist peace negotiator representing every country, no?
