» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - Good point, Migisi

In response to Ad Hominem posted by Migisi:

Name-calling goes back a long ways. I agree, Migisi, and have taught that in my history classes. The 1800 election between Jefferson and Adams, for instance, remains one of the nastiest in U.S. history. It's amazing those two reconciled their friendship.

But, I think the Internet, TV, and radio have ratcheted things up quite a bit. Political nastiness was expressed via newspapers and rallies back then. It's constantly in front of us today, and is fueled and perpetuated 24/7 by our modern electronic media (and by tens of millions of Internet users).

It's a whole new ball game.
