In response to Could Say A Lot posted by pink101:
.
As they say, the only constant in life is change.
.
And that includes Man's perceptions about God. Think on how Christianity has changed over the last 2000+ years. I bet the apostles wouldn't recognize it today.
.
To get rid of the monster under the bed, turn on the light. It's existance depends on the darkness.

But, some people are deathly afraid of the dark. To wit, many of our participating associates here.

Did you check out the article by Saunders on Mary Dyer? That will give you some idea of how afraid avowed christians can be.

» _Boanerges_ - Could Say A Lot

In response to Could Say A Lot posted by Migisi:

I once had belief in the Bible, but I lost it. Like a lost arm, I learned to function quite well without it.

hey Mig.. yes.. uhmm.. I understand.. however, your response does not relate to my specific statement.. that is to say, yes, I agree, you dont need the bible.. however, that was not my question..

the question/statement was: if you lost your right arm, would you deny the truth of the fact that you once had a right arm, now that you do not..

otherwise.. I mean.. its like saying.. yeah.. I tried pot, but, now I dont need it.. What does that have to do with 'enduring faith'... I mean.. just answering my statement with "Like a lost arm, I learned to function quite well without it".. has no correlation to - the truth that you had an arm.. not the fact you can do with out it..

because you lost your arm - are you now going to deny that you ever had one?.....

But, I was hoping you would explain the last arm analogy. I'm having a problem trying to understand your point.

I'm so sorry you had to revert to your old characteristic style with its inevitable insult.
.
It wasn't necessary, Wendell. Especially, when with very little effort you can be such a nice guy.
.
It doesn't always have to be all about me--or Brian--or RCutt--or Migisi--or you. We can come here just to unwind and, in the process, be nice to each other.

MPD?

Isn't that Multiple Personality Disorders? Isn't that a psychiatric designation in which subjects are unable to or are having serious problems in the management and integration of various facets of their inner self? Do you think it applies here?
