That ground hog's gonna have a lot of digging to do... through a foot of snow we got here yesterday.

Whether he pops his head out or not, we always have 6 weeks more of winter - actually 6 and a half weeks. The first day of spring is March 20 on my calendar. If Mr. Groundhog is smart, he'd stay underground where it's comfy until then.

The movie, Groundhog Day, was actually filmed in Woodstock, Illinois, a pituresque small town near the Wisconsin border.

Some of my relatives went to Puxatawney, Pennsylvania, this weekend to visit the site in the movie. They were going to try to find the bed and breakfast where Bill Murray stayed in the movie. The bread and breakfast in the movie is actually a private residence on Cherry Street in Woodstock, Illinois. Regretfully, they won't be finding the place in PA.

A few years back, my sweetheart and I went through Puxatawney on our way to visit our daughter in Burlington, Vermont. Things just didn't look right. Now, we know why.

It would have been fun to have spent the weekjend in Woodstock.

Know it. My daughter used to live closeby, in McHenry. Very 'woodsy' up there, and easy to get turned around on back roads.

I did enjoy the movie. Is that Cherry Street, or Cherry Court in Woodstock?
