I do not mean on a sexual basis; but, it is a taboo to have a intimately personal friendship with more than one woman in our culture.

Um, I think ~men~ further that taboo moreso than women.
Most women ~I~ know seek and enjoy intimate (nonsexual) relationships with women, so why not with men. If the man can manage it, that is. Few can handle even one intimate relationship, let alone two or more. And, from my experience, men expect an intimate relationship to escalate and end in sex (and sleep happy ) Probably reason for the taboo. As you know, women would love it if men would talk more openly.

Some do, some don't.
.
I guess it's a difficult area.
.
Maybe it will be overcome some day.
.
But, it's going to take a lot of work.

» pink101 - Today Is Good Friday

.
I remember a more secular society when Good Friday was celebrated by almost everyone.
.
The company you worked for closed down at noon keeping only a skeleton crew on for vital services. Almost everyone attended Good Friday services in neighborhood churches all over America.
.
What happened?
.
Today is Good Friday.

My rural farm town bank is closed all day. Must be honoring Good Friday. I'm sure the bank employees are kneeling in church right now. ;-)

» pink101 - Femal Compassion

FEMALE COMPASSION
A woman was in town on a shopping trip. She began her day finding the
most perfect shoes in the first shop and a beautiful dress on sale in the
second. In the third, everything had been reduced to half-price when her mobile
phone rang.. It was a female doctor notifying her that her husband had just
been in a terrible accident and was in critical condition and in the Intensive
Care Unit.
The woman told the doctor to inform her husband where she was and that
she'd be there as soon as possible.
As she hung up she realized she was leaving what was shaping up to be
her best day shopping ever. She decided to get in a just a couple of more
shops before heading to the hospital. She ended up shopping the rest of
the morning, finishing her trip with a cup of coffee and a delicious coffee cake,
complimentary, from the last shop. She was jubilant.
Then, she remembered her husband. Feeling guilty, she dashed to
the hospital.
She saw the doctor in the corridor and asked about her
husband's condition.
The lady doctor glared at her and shouted, 'You went ahead and finished
your shopping trip didn't you! I hope you're proud of yourself! While you
were out for the past four hours enjoying yourself in
town, your husband has been languishing in the Intensive Care Unit! It's just as well you went ahead
and finished, because it will be more than likely the last shopping trip
you ever take! For the rest of his life he will require round the clock
care. And you'll be his caregiver!'
The woman was feeling so guilty she broke down and sobbed ...
The lady doctor then chuckled and said, 'I'm just pulling your leg--it's April Fool's Day.
He's dead. What did you buy?'

Ha!! You got me! What an ending!! Tee hee. An April fool I be!
.
Yesterday, I'm ordering my sandwich at the local Subway. The clerk, whom I've know for years, says to me, "You know, Subway is now charging $1 for microwaving your sandwich. Yes, they've calculated the cost of electricity to nuke one sandwich, and with the price of fuel these days..." The other clerk chimed in, suggesting that I take my Sub Melt home to warm it in my own microwave. I said, "Maybe I better rethink my sandwich and get a cold cut trio instead." They both started belly laughing. Yeah... APRIL FOOLS on me, a day early.
I WILL give pay back when they least expect it. Hide and watch. happy
