Some of you might recall that I spend some time helping out a veteran who has fallen on hard times.
.
I've known, for some short time now, that he is a victim of Crack Cocaine.
.
He is impoverished and limps along on different odd jobs like cutting grass in the summer and shoveling snow in the winter. He is a house painter by trade and gets odd jobs painting. He just can't keep a steady job. When I learned he was a Crack-Head, I understood his lack of commitment.
.
About six weeks ago, he came into a tidy sum of a little over $30 M. Today, he called asking me to drive him to an errand. (He lost his driver's license some years ago.). When I picked him up, I noticed how wasted he was. I soon learned that the devil that goes by the name of Crack Cocaine had got his every penny except for five dollars he had left in his pocket.
.
He, truly, is a "son of man". How sad it is that our society can spend billions of dollars at the behest of multi-nationals while a terrible evil like Crack Cocaine is allowed to exist in our neighborhoods. I thought about this song that I haven't heard from more than fifty years. I wonder what today's churchies are thinking in their Calvinist minds that they are so involved in their satisfactions of being blessed.

Instead, we worry about such things as whether or not Jesus is God or how the universe was created and if there really was a Noah's Ark and a flood.

Gimmee a break!! There is a real world out here, ladies*.

* Ladies = U.S.Marine Corps lingo used to address men that live an overly protected life style.

People who are suspected dealers of Crack Cocaine should be ferreted out of their hiding places.
.
They should be tried in open and highly publicized court cases.
.
If they are found guilty, they should receive the most severe punishment possible ranging from death by electrocution to lengthy sentences in hard time on some rock pile. I cannot imagine a more despicable activity.

there is no quarter - in the world of men.. only death and misery.....

For those lucky enough to escape the misery part.. only death awaits them... us....

yet.. hope prevails in the world of men.. but, not by mere men - who are miserable - and full of whatever else the "sons of men" produce... welcome to the world of men.....

You can not imagine how sorry that it is made real in my mind that Crack Cocaine is such a big element among a certain underclass in American society. It is part of the same complaint I made to you about how this certain underclass is also put down by the barriers against its youngsters being able to obtain an education.
.
We live in a bureaucratized society in which each role requires training and education. When young children are left out in the cold regarding opportunities for happiness due to no fault of their own, we--you and I--are the ones that are held responsible. "In so much as you do it unto the least of these, you do it unto me."
.
I'm telling you that Bush's veto on the S-CHIP bill is an example of our failure to secure a better opportunity for these "least" among us. I am a caucasoid male; but, I still recognize how an under-classed sub-culture is being developed just as surely as you have a nose on your face. I don't have any idea how big the Crack Cocaine industry is; but, it must be enormous at the rate it was able to suck nearly $30,000.00 out of this poor bastard's pockets.

Something must be done. What can we do when our government sloughs off this most important priority that belongs to our society?
.
Getting down where these people live is an eye opener to great terror that exists in our nation. We cannot continue to blame the victims.
