Or basic humanism which would say that Jesus was born from natural causes perhaps with the assistance of a lying whore. Christians believe that Jesus was God and had no earthly father.
.
Luke lists Jesus' ancestry back to Adam. Matthew's genealogy only goes back to Abraham. The lists are very different. Between David and Jesus, the only names the genealogies have in common are Shealtiel and Zerubbabel. Most Bible scholars assume Luke is recording Mary's genealogy and Matthew is recording Joseph's. If Joseph was NOT Jesus' biological father, why did Matthew bother tracing Joseph's ancestry at all? It would be irrelevant, no?

Thank God, I'm free from religion.

Whew! It almost had me in its grasp.
.
What a bondage it is on the human soul.
.
And, I'm free.

There is only ONE God. In Isaiah 44, God makes exclusive statements about himself: "... I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God." and vs 8 "...Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any." Could that be any clearer? In verse 24, God states "I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; "Myself" and "alone" mean that there was no other person present. Why would God be so emphatic about oneness, if he were three persons? In Isaiah 45:5-7, God proclaims "5I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: 6That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." Again, if God was really three persons, why didn't he say so? If one of the Trinity members is speaking here, would it be honest for him to say, "There is none else?" Wouldn't he be forced to admit, "Me, and my other two persons"? In Isaiah 46:9, God says 9 "Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me," Here, there is ONE God speaking (no "we" or "us"), and that singular God says that there is NO ONE like him. NO ONE, no other gods, and certainly not a man-deified HUMAN named Jesus.

Right AND Wrong, In my thinking.
.
I think Jesus sets the example that had never before him been set.
.
He shows human beings that it is his example that is the way to God. I guess I don't believe that language and the explication of ideas were as far advanced as ours is today. Although, I think, if Jesus were standing in our midst today, he would say something to the effect of, "I have set the example where the individual human being and God come to be one and in my example the Spirit of the relationship comes into existence and, THAT is how you know it's the truth." In this sense, the one who follows the example is made one with God and the Spirit of the relationship is the proof of the at-one-ment.

happy happy Ain't I a freak for coming up with such a far out idea? happy happy

I think it is most important that we are free to live the authentic self rather than play acting some prescribed role out of a Religionist Dogma.
.
I think Jesus sets the example for us to do that.
.
Otherwise, who does?

You are assuming a lot here. You're assuming that Jesus was NOT affirming any personal deity. And you're assuming that it's "play acting" for us to embrace Jesus' divinity.

I do assume that Jesus was not affirming that HE was a god or the God - because Jesus constantly referred to his Father-God as a single, distinct, supreme entity. A while back, I posted a long list of Jesus quotes in which he did this, and asked you to comment. You never did. Shall I post them again?
