» paper_turtle - But *why* do we pray?
In response to Celebrities posted by Migisi:
Prayer is supposed to be dialogue not monologue. We don't pray to tell God what to do; we pray to talk *with* him about how we need to become better persons.
I pray for the people who annoy me, not to change them and make them less annoying, but so that I can change my attitude towards them and love them better.
I pray for those who have treated me badly not for revenge but for help in reaching the point of peace and forgiveness.
I pray about social issues not to tell God how he should cure these problems, but so God can tell me how **I** can help him make things better.
I pray about people like Britney to learn how I can do something constructive instead of just fretting about how bad it is.
And I spend a lot of time being absolutely quiet so I can hear what he has to say.
peace and love,
Paper Turtle
