Do some research to learn your genealogy back to your family's immigration to Australia and before. Generally, you can be sure there were some real heroes along the way.
.
Get photos and information that lines your ancestors up with historical movements that brought them to Australia.
.
Ask everyone to bring any photos or stories they might have.

The Rooty Hill RSL Resort website says they provide entertainment. Maybe they've got something on the calendar already, which your party can attend on that June date?

Thanx.

We're 5th generation Aussie on mum's side but dad's is totally unknown beyond his mum ie the paternal grandmother. Asking for stories is a great idea so what do you think of a "roast" for our "newest" member? happy I'm now starting work on a "paper" mixing historical events in 1988 with what happened to us that year...a funny handout. For that paper, my take is whatever else happened in 1988 was overtaken by being re-united with my sister...but a broader history view from us all is do-able, methinks.

The club does have entertainment but only advances details up to 2-3 months ahead but we'll be on the lookout for that. I visited it the other day as its upgrade is complete...one very classy restaurant...set menu options start at $AUD42.50 a head..but tis a la carte for us, methinks!

I'll not be surprised if elements of the clan "disappear" to the poker machines or a coffee nook or their rooms in the 'quiet times' so I'll appoint a helper.

It's 25 pages long so twas a tad unkind on my eyes to do in one reading. Slow for my machine to download.

"You might even find yourself in there."

We might even finds all of us in there...but risks a shaggy dog story to pin it down more than that. happy

Today, 14 January marks the 224th anniversary of the ratification of the peace treaty between the USA and the UK. Ratified versions were only exchanged in Paris 4 months later on May 12, 1784!

I dunno how you guys managed to claim independence way back on 4 July 1776 before all the official paperwork but today's also worth celebrating your freedom, isn't it? Sincere best wishes if it IS important to y'all! happy

And what's with your George Bush with his: "I'm very proud to be a merkin" which led me on a merry dictionary dance. And his hopes for a great legacy out of the Iraq error seems a faux pas?

Every time I hear him say 'merkin', I think of it and chuckle. Likely you will too from now on. Yep, he's proud to be a big 'wig'. Hardy har. I bet his speech writers laugh at him behind their hands too. happy
