In response to respite care posted by BrianTubbs:

No apologies needed, Brian AND I don't see you as being hostile or unco-operative. But please understand any lack of response to give me a broader based view, isn't value added for me.

» redback - respite care

Migisi: They're fair questions you've asked me over in the 'Bible' topic and I see a seamlessness between your helpful responses-to-topic and those questions. I will get back to you. happy

But right now, I'm more tired than not and if you recall, I come here to be helpfully sidetracked. I lost my glasses for 90 minutes last time I was here is but one example but most totally unrelated to suite101.

Pink: I'm really having difficulty understanding why you seem not to understand me...if that's what's happening. I don't see the Bible as a clever fiction nor Christianity some conspiracy even if my understanding of these won't surpass Boanerges'. happy (jokingly, B) I'm not embracing the dogma or minutiae of Christianity any time soon...let alone it having dominant responsibility for the strife in politics**.

I believe parts of the Bible remain in history, some will make sense solely on a literal translation (not the Flood) and some require further, deeper spiritual thought...a skill I have in spades. (I can't name verse the verse of this) And this is NOT the first time I've attempted to share these views with all participants here. It underlies ANY question.

BUT I just need a break.

Best wishes all.

PS: Pink. Last night's election means Labor is in power in all states and federally. The Prime Minister's Liberals not only lost but he lost his own seat for only the 2nd time in history its happened to a PM. One State was left with no opposition at all representing it in the Federal parliament. The ear wax eating Mandarin speaking new Prime Minister has Australia's very first female Deputy Prime Minister helping him. She obviously will become our very first female acting PM throughout their term.

» _Boanerges_ - objective truths

In response to unrealistic expectations posted by redback:
but do we all really walk that talk when seeking objective truths.
not sure about you, but.. I did..
I've found truth.. no need to diatribe it here, or anywhere else... as Christians, we are only instructed to give out the Gospel... not debate it..
so.. with that.. I wish you well in your journey.. as for me, I have arrived at truth.. happy

I have is probably hampered by my own 'creative' questions.

and I as well have always enjoyed your honesty, Jeff. and participation.. however, in response to the above quote.. well.. I would not say that your attempts are creative at all.. actually, quite normal.. so, in my opinion, you're simply normal when it comes to the "creative" search for truth happy...

Like you though.. I have taken time away from the endless diatribes.. whats the point really.. 5yrs later and what? the best we can say is that we are simply - friendly.. I guess that something...

I would rather video though.. I believe this type of forum is almost outdated.. but hey.. to each his/her own, ey!.. and - no wrong in that as long as its moral and ethical..

opps.. there I go again! now I suppose someone will question what is moral and ethical.. !! (wink)....

good to have you here, Jeff.. happy

Apologies for absence.

Yep the PM who lurvs GWB has been replaced by one who has signed the Kyoto Protocols leaving the USA entirely on its own.

Conservative? Opposing major political parties here are both "blurred" conservatives making it hard to tell them or their core policies apart. Well, actually tis easier right now as there is NO Liberal government at all be it State, Territory or Federal...anywhere in Australia.

In response to objective truths posted by _Boanerges_:

On reflection, fatigue aside, I'm not sure what incited my 'diatribe' in earlier posts here. But I am currently too easily distracted not only here but including from real problems in real time.

"well.. I would not say that your attempts are creative at all.. actually, quite normal..."

Whether it's my 'questions' here or my 'attempts' here that are arguably "creative" I can measure it by the relative responses. Relatively, your above rating does not help...and I mean that in the kindest way. You know...like beauty is in the eye of the beholder and even if you love spinach doesn't mean I'll eat it any time soon. happy

"I believe this type of forum is almost outdated.."

As I browse through the various sections here that are closed for wont of a feature writer, I tend to agree. I saw a duplicate 'Protestantism' site set up for a similar fate. It initially confused me when attempting access here. Is it preparatory to Brian closing this one down?

"I believe parts of the Bible remain in history, some will make sense solely on a literal translation (not the Flood) and some require further, deeper spiritual thought...(I can't name verse the verse of this)" * *Should read: (I can't cite the verse-by-verse of this)

"...I'm not embracing the dogma or minutiae of Christianity any time soon..."

responds in part to my comment over in the 'Bible' topic about some of Christianity "unravelling" for me. The Sunday School version unravelled some time ago.

I get the point Genesis provides the ancient Biblical explanation of things. I assume it's a 'Christian' explanation to whatever extent Christians believe in the Old Testament. But there is a story that takes us through: the 144 hours of creation before God had a break (to create one reason for the Sabbath); Adam and Eve's corruption; the exact descriptions re boarding the Ark; the drowning of all mankind except a chosen family; a chosen race being rescued from slavery to create the 2nd reason for the Sabbath so now they only "slave" 6 days pw and the genesis of the discipline of linguistics...and whatever else of Genesis is yet to be discussed.

It's all packed in there except(?) how man came to know when/how to domesticate & ride the wild horse. How those true events got condensed into a book and movie may have used some poetic licence and I don't discredit the Bible if it did the same.

There is historical ambiguity to what is a chosen race OR chosen religion. And I get the point that Christianity, Islam et al have survived despite "it all".

My life-long friend has now 'reverted' to Islam. Does one 'convert' to Christianity and 'revert' to Islam?

In any event, I don't have to join a political party to vote for it. And I can't seem to pick a winner there either. I think I'm an indeterminate theist. Is Jesus a human manifestation of God thus routinely capable of absolutely everything or an actual human subjected to frequent divine interventions, human sufferings...and with miraculous powers and incredible wisdom?

Ask, and Migisi will surf (wink):

First mention in the Bible of a domesticated horse is in Gen. 47. Joseph's family moved to Goshen because of famine. Joseph is in Pharoah's service, and he provided food to the Egyptians in exchange for their horses and other livestock. Allegedly between 1662-1657 BC.

Depends on whom you ask, and what their personal beliefs are. If you ask the doctrinal Christian, ~most~ believe that Jesus was/is God in the flesh. If you ask a nonbeliever like me, Jesus (if he existed) was fully human and his (and his followers') supernatural feats were legends.
