In response to How about some honesty? posted by Brother_Jones:

.
I and others have encouraged you, Pinky, and anyone else to start a thread on your God. Explain what you believe.
.
But, my idea of a supreme being is not something I can put in words. So, how could I explain something that goes beyond my ability to understand it?
.
Yours--obvioiusly--is contained in a book. You couldn't begin to explain what I believe of as a supreme being in any book.

I admit that it is a struggle for me to constantly try and think of ways to encourage folks like you. I believe that is my role in life, and I probably am not doing a very good job online. I do have a life that goes beyond this and my faith is far from being contained in a book. It is an unfair statement for you to be making about Christians. God is very real to the disciple of Christ and He is involved in daily life.

I will try harder to be respectful of your belief in whatever it is that you can't explain or understand and that you feel is your god.

I have been paying attention. If you have any beliefs, you have pretty much kept them to yourself or you have agreed with agnosticism.
.
No, it's clear to me that you haven't been paying attention, or you'd remember me speaking of the ONE, the Creator. I think what baffles you is that you can't affix a label to my spirituality, can't read about it in any book, or examine any doctrine. You ~need~ labels, books, and doctrine to make your God real to you, and I think you assume everyone else needs those things too.
.
I believe you are undecided on just about every spiritual issue...
.
I wonder why you think everyone needs to 'decide' - to lock themselves into one belief system or another? To me, that severely limits personal spiritual growth.
.
with the exception of your belief that Jesus isn't the Christ. You seem to have decided on that one decision.
.
You are correct.

Do you ever speak with your god, worship or sing songs to the One? How did you come up with the name, One?

I think the verse might speak more to you and me than to migisi. There is a type of spirituality that is very uncomfortable with the whole idea of a specific god or personality. Modern Spirituality is more about influence, impressions, and feelings of inspiration. I can sorta understand and relate to where that person is coming from that believes in an undefined deity. The apostle is trying to throw out a bridge (Jesus) to those who can't seem to stomach or relate to the God who lays claim to us. imo.

Here is some plain talk for you.
.
Why do you put yourself in the attack mode so often?
.
It isn't becoming in a discussion like this.
.
Migisi has every right to any understanding of any god that comes to her. Actually, hers makes a lot more sense than the one you promote which appears to only live in a book. All your knowledge of any supreme being comes out of the Bible--no place else--it is totally limited by what was written so long ago. You will not allow yourself anything that cannot be proved by some Scripture. You have made that plain in your postings here. I think you have a lot of nerve the way you put every one down that doesn't get in line with your myopic view of reality.
.
A little less accusing and a little more curiosity might help make the discussion more productive.
.
Give it some thought anyway.
.
It might be interesting to read what she has to say about the One to which she refers from time to time. Her knowledge of nature and of Native Americans is probably soaked to sopping with spirituality.

good, very good.

Why do you put yourself in the attack mode so often?

That is a matter of your opinion.

It isn't becoming in a discussion like this.

Well, I suppose I should think about my appearance more.

Migisi has every right to any understanding of any god that comes to her.

I asked a couple of simple, sincere questions. That seems to have gotten you all riled up. I'm waiting for simple, sincere answers, not angry snotty behavior from you.

All your knowledge of any supreme being comes out of the Bible--no place else--it is totally limited by what was written so long ago.

That really steams you doesn't it. It is not really true, but I suppose most of it is.

You will not allow yourself anything that cannot be proved by some Scripture.

I learned something in my years of following Christ.

You have made that plain in your postings here. I think you have a lot of nerve the way you put every one down that doesn't get in line with your myopic view of reality.

That seems to be the case that you and migisi try to make concerning me and Wendell from time to time. How about Brian? Does he meet with your approval? Or Jeff?

It might be interesting to read what she has to say about the One to which she refers from time to time. Her knowledge of nature and of Native Americans is probably soaked to sopping with spirituality.

Of course it would. So start a thread on Native American Spirituality. Why all of this drama from you every day? It isn't very becoming and it simply shows to me that you are unsteady in your beliefs and worried that I have mistreated migisi. She is a full grown woman able to take care of her beliefs.

Of course she is and she is able to take care of herself. But, that is not the point.
.
You can make every positive point possible regarding what it is that you see as reality without attacking any other participant for not being in agreement with you.
.
[Putting others down that don't seem to be in agreement with me] seems to be the case that you and migisi try to make concerning me and Wendell from time to time. How about Brian? Does he meet with your approval? Or Jeff?
.
They are fully grown men and able to take care of their own beliefs.

Oh, okay. Let's just repeat ourselves for several more posts. lol.

I'm glad you got this out of your system so early in the day. Now, what is it that you want to say about God or Science? We are at the Protestant site. Aren't we? We have established that other people have the ability to come forth and speak for themselves. That is progress, I guess.
