actually, this is what McGrath said: Has science disproved God? McGrath says Darwinism is equally compatible with religious beliefs and with atheism, quoting Gould and Rees in support (pp 30-31) and advocates a view of ""partially overlapping magisteria" (POMA), stating that science and religion offer possibilities of crossfertilization on account of the interpenetration of their subjects and methods."(p 37) He quotes Denis Noble's reformulation of Dawkins' "lumbering robots" trope[11] to show that two statements that "see the world in completely different ways" can be empirically equivalent (p 33) and suggests that "scientific theories do not, and are not intended to, describe and explain "everything about the world" - such as its purpose."[12] McGrath suggests that rather a lot of scientists do believe in God (including 40% of American scientists).[13] He points out that Owen Gingerich, Francis Collins and Paul Davies had produced theistic books in the same year as The God Delusion.(pp 39-40) and claims that "Dawkins clearly has no mandate whatsoever to speak for the scientific community at this point or on this topic. There is a massive observational discrepancy between the number of scientists that Dawkins believes should be atheists, and those who are so in practice....Dawkins is clearly entrenched in his own peculiar version of a fundamentalist dualism". I have not seen any 'science and faith' subject matters being discussed.... as usual.. the conversation ended due to the lack of listening to what the other has stated. The use of prescribed psyche drugs as a causal factor in the fatal events described in the article is definitely a disturbing and growing problem - too often denied by doctors, pharm-companies, and the FDA. . However, trading a chemical drug for a supernatural drug is no cure for mental illness, IMO. From what I've observed in my own family, the combination of psyche drugs and religion can cause even more harm. . Psychiatry professionals have become irresponsible, negligent, and lazy. A ten minute patient consultation ends with a script. Just move the patients quickly in and out of the office, in assembly line fashion. It's all so cost efficient, and a big $ pay off at the end of the day. . I do enjoy the Indian legend of the battling two wolves mentioned in the conclusion. But, I do disagree with you reasoning.. not because it is not true, which in many cases is, but. From what I've observed in my own family, the combination of psyche drugs and religion can cause even more harm. The truth to this is opposite for me in my experience. Some science tells us that up to 80% of all illness can be traced to a condition of the mind and THAT might be why placebos work so well in many cases. . That might account for the fact that faith healers can get results. . Christian Science, aka Mary Baker Eddy, accounts for much healing. . This is an area where Benny Hinn and Richard Dawkins come into conflict with each other. . There is a spirit in every post and in every day where we can choose to become like little children who take off running with the dawn. Those that are pulled down in their daily walk are pulled down by their attitude of thinking that everything is just a circle of society repeating itself and there is no breaking out of the circle of our culture. I do believe that your presence here is akin to the type of spirit that Jesus welcomed when He asked the children to be brought to Him.
