Please take the opportunity to give the graph here a good look so that you will be able to discuss what you think of it. . http://bp1.blogger.com/_IFjNgImUj-o/Rs8T... . If you have trouble bringing this graph up, try this link. The graph is about half way down: . http://unrulymob.blogspot.com/ . . -- posted by pink101 » pink101 - An Organism .Brother Jones had posted: . Most Christians would think that you are talking about general naturalistic sciences that only observe the facts and the behaviors. But you and [some big names in science] have moved into the new arena that supposes that Science can and should be involved in morality, ethics, and religious questions. It is not even acceptable thinking among leading Scientists that their mission is to involve themselves in the question of the ultimate meaning of human life. So yes, I will participate in your discussion about your graph giving some insight into whether Science can and should provide any answers in the area of philosophy. But you should know better than to think that it does. . Obviously, you are a well read person. But, I'm taking exception to the following statement of yours in the above quotation: . "It is not even acceptable thinking among leading Scientists that their mission is to involve themselves in the question of the ultimate meaning of human life." . I going to put that under the rubric of, "Get an idea", which is the first box under both sides of the graph. . There is a concept about society to which Christianity gives a great deal of support. It is expressed in the idea that the totality of Christians represents an organism--like a body. In fact, the Body of Christ. . We can apply this concept, in general, to all of society. . And, we can discuss how it is important, that in an organism, the several parts must work together in a consensus to make it achieve its over all purposes. . What do you say to that? . -- posted by pink101 » Brother_Jones - An Organism In response to An Organism posted by pink101:
Alrighty then, lets pursue under the left side of the graph that scientific thinking (especially as testified by Suite participants) can answer or delve into the relationship of the physical universe with transcendent or nonmaterial beings such as God, angels, or creatures of more dubious character. Let's pursue the idea that on the left side of the graph, there is ample evidence that exists to those who think scientifically of no god/gods and that the universe is self-existant, self contained, and self governing. Let's see the evidence. i am just an oldtimer for the Lord. -- posted by Brother_Jones » pink101 - An Organism In response to An Organism posted by Brother_Jones:

Well, I suppose that your idea is based on something that comes from the left side of the correct manner in which to think. What might it be? Just guessing or whistling in the wind? Where is your example? i am the oldtimer. -- posted by Brother_Jones » pink101 - An Organism In response to An Organism posted by Brother_Jones:. I gave it to you, The Body of Christ. . You're not allowing yourself to be distracted, are you? . -- posted by pink101 » Brother_Jones - An Organism In response to An Organism posted by pink101:
Is this going to be one of those really boring threads that people start snoozing on? Okay, go ahead.
