And, then again, maybe I'm ribbing Wendell?
.
I used to listen to J. Vernon faithfully when he was live. I thought he was great.
.
Now, I think riding on the Bible Bus is an escape from real time.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree about the "Bible bus" being an "escape." I think the Bible is God's revelation to mankind, and is for us to read and apply in our lives. But rather than debate that with you ad nauseum (because I doubt either of us will change the other's mind), I'd like to hear where Wendell was intending to go with this thread.

So, what do you say, Wendell? What in relation to Isaiah 55 do you wish to talk about?

okie.. back on track!... Here we go... First, a repeat of post #1...

Isaiah 55:11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

J V McGee states that chapters 54-57 of Isaiah speak of: Results of the redemption wrought by the Redeemer, who is God's only Savior.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:

This verse indicates that, "goeth forth [ out of my mouth ] refers to Jesus. He is called - The Word of God.

I will hold my thought here (for the moment).... happy

Okay, so Isaiah is speaking of the same "Word" that is referred to in John 1. The immediate 'problem' with this, of course, is that most (all?) English translations use the lower-case 'word' in Isaiah 55. Correct?

Jesus, being tempted by Satan... responds...

Matthew 4

4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

7 Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" 11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
