On reflection, I'm pondering whether it's the nation, not the individual, on a journey of self-discovery...with marriage. Society may now be asking: What do we need or want from marriage? Wedding is for the "moments like these you need Minties" but marriage is for the...birds? (Darn, twas on the tip of my tongue )

Just over 30 years ago, 90% of Aussies were married by 30. Now, more than 40% of marriages end in divorce with most being sought by the wife. Lower birth rates, too. About 50% of Aussie households now contain only one or 2 people. Many reasons for all this.

Maybe the fact you and your wife never got past the honeymoon phase are for reasons peculiar to you. And you're outa step with US trends? TIC ABC
