I try to give it a nice wash everyday. What is all the stuff you are saying? I've never mentioned excommunication at all much less in connection with you. Remember me. I'm the one who objected first to the 'anathematizing,' in the Creed. You act a little jumpy this early in the morning and you don't seem to be able to speak your mind as well as at other times. Try to focus. I would certainly welcome you at the church I attend with open arms, Pinky.

Brian tests me with, Next question, Pink. Is it reasonable or possible to be CERTAIN of anything?.
.
I'm sure it is. Doesn't that all depend on the nature of what is in question? Maybe we could discuss the certain involved in anything we consider to be a closed system?
.
You think?

Methinks you don't understand the concept of "excommunication." For someone to say in social or Internet conversation that "You're wrong" is not "excommunication" or akin to it.

- Speaking in Absolutes
You have to give people the freedom, flexibility, and discretion to speak in absolute terms within the context of their POV.
I feel like you're putting people of religious faith in a position where they have to jettison any and all claims of certitude or else be dismissed as "absolutists" who shut off "further knowledge."
The irony here is that YOU, Pink, are making some absolutist type claims here. Example: It shuts off all further knowledge of God. It forces all others into a dead end cul de sac where there is no exit. Excommunication--plain and simple. Sounds like an absolutist statement to me. ![]()
I'm not trying to shin-kick or be troublesome. I truly and sincerely see a problem here. Absolutists and relativists (those are very broad categories, I know) always go round and round over this stuff. And what ends up happening are the relativists end up just as absolutist as the absolutists. The only difference is on the specifics.

Why is that? Absolute Truth does not reciprocate--it closes off every option--and, thusly, it buries truth.

Keep posting, I've got to split again. Off to the West Coast of Michigan; otherwise called the Third Coast 'round here.

I think I'm lucent.
No question there. My concern was whether you ever attempt to focus your ideas. Especially when they go south on you. I think anybody else here would have taken notice of my post and changed the title on the thread, since I have never voiced or written anything about excommunication. But not you. You don't care about such trifles.
You have often told me that I have some separate Jesus and just recently you mentioned something about me not being there in the after life.
When you get to heaven, do you expect to see me in the bosom of Abraham?
But, I don't care what others think in that area--it has no bearing on reality.
lol. If you found me some night busted up and helpless, would you render aid? Or would you be afraid the authorities would pin the misdeed on you.. and would you run for cover? That is truly the person who doesn't care, because he/she has lost all belief in authority, especially a great authority.
It shuts off all further knowledge of God.
Cynicism, sarcasm, and uncertainty. Yea, that's the ticket to a god. But not the God. You do have a different Jesus. It is unmistakeable from a Christian perspective. So, just keep telling yourself that you are a reliable source of information about unknown god out there, and then follow that statement with your above statement, "I think I am lucent." You may need to repeat several times a day.
