» pink101 - Indicting Ideological Opinion

The idea of something being common is given--almost--as an excuse for misbehavior.
.
Communications, it has been said, is to human society as water is to fish--there is no reality without it.
.
These are strange times in which ideologically based opinions have become Absolute Truth and Truth itself is cast aside.
.

Ah, me.
.
The death of truth.
.
A sad event.
.
Once it has been verified and buried, why would anyone continue to search for it?

» pink101 - La Morte di Verità

.
The Death of Truth
.
When truth is buried alive, it dies for all intent and purposes.
.
But, truth--itself--cannot die. So, it is not dead.
.
Yet, we treat it as though it were.
.
Why?
.
Because it is buried.
.
What are the circumstances of its demise--its burial?
.
You know!
.
Wenever it comes to pass that the majority of people proclaim the discovery of Absolute Truth--TRUTH--itself is buried.
.
Is it possible to unearth the truth in these days of ideologic absolutes?
.
Is it?
.
Can we--are we willing--to try to uncover any truth?
.

Do you believe that one who expresses certitude is burying truth?

When truth is buried alive, it dies for all intent and purposes.

Even philosophers separate into different sects and beliefs. It seems like your problem is that in one corner of the world exists an ancient people who declare that all the world is in error and that God has revealed the truth to them and that they will always exist on the earth in need of redemption and communion with God. And it is written in the coffee table book on every table that this doctrine will survive whatever sects and beliefs you propose. So, you may be fighting a lost cause here, Pinky.

i am just an oldtimer for the Lord.

To Brian. --- Yes.

To Brother Jones, I don't have a problem.

I believe that the search for truth is never ending. And, so I believe that coffee table knowledge is just that--something you pick up and glance through while you're waiting for something else to take your attention.

Well I was sorta referring to your constant lifelong battle with Christ. Truth does need a constant watching and revealing, but the philospher route, that you esteem so highly over all other pursuits, seems to suggest that truth is never discovered and it goes missing in every life.

I have no battle with Jesus Christ--never did and never will.
.
But, I do battle with those who bury truth.
.
I am in the constant search of truth and have no shame whatsoever about it.
.
I believe it is buried hereabout someplace.

What did you do with your shovel?
