Have you ever wacked your forehead on a low-level cupboard creating a lump on the lump that sits on your newk??? That happened yesterday and tis hard to shift the headache or think things suite101.

A few weeks ago. I was sitting on a bench at the club when I stood up and turned in just the wrong way to hit my back on the bottom corner of the top locker that I left open. That left some sore ribs and a good sized black and blue mark for several days. Once I parked on the driver's side of the street--got out and promptly hit my head on the edge of the "1 Hour Parking" sign. Boing!
.
I can't remember how many times I've done dumb things like that. Maybe hundreds?

Good thing our bodies repair themselves, or we'd all be bruised and scratched and sliced, with bumps from head to toe. happy

Why do I bump into a door that's been in place for 20 years? Well, I've figured it out. It's the earth spinning that throws me off balance, and its changing axis that tilts the door. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Heh heh.

Forgot to check in!

"I don't know what "good company" I am if..."

The fact you DO bang your head on occasions means your head IS visible ie it's not in the clouds nor in your....darn...forgot what I was going to say. happy

And Migisi...does the Earth seem to spin faster at its alleged centre ie the USA...or at its flat edge ie OZ?
---------

Further to my story on where the Pope will hold his "protest rally" aka World Youth Day: Our State & Federal Governments have decided to chip in $41 million to compensate the beleagured horse racing ie gambling industry based at Royal Randwick Race Course. They would have us believe there will be 500,000 pilgrims arriving in OZ to culminate in treading the race track for World Youth Day...and these same, kind folk will inject $150 million into the State's economy.

So, a massive gamble OR spiritual awakening awaits. happy

I responded to Brian in another topic...about trying to discern who tells the least lies in matters national. A news item today caused me to reflect on political opportunism and how a nation's members are expected to shift beliefs simply because of political expediency.

32 years ago, 5 Aussie TV newsmen were killed in Indonesia as they vainly attempted to report that country's invasion of East Timor. A court today determined it was not crossfire...but nation-sanctioned murder.

I'll put that on the list of the French Government sinking of the Rainbow Warrior in 1985 of the Greenpeace flagship in a friendly harbour...Auckland, New Zealand...and of their nuclear testing of Mururoa Atoll endangering their own citizens and the Pacific generally.

There are others that memory has currently dimmed. It is not a feeling of anger but usually of great sadness. Because I can't in all conscience deny those feelings within those who are designated our current 'enemies' until the winds of politics make the enemies of our friends the enemies of our enemies or is the friends of our friends until the next election.

Of lighter relief, I still recall some 'analyst' stating just days after Al Gore was "robbed" of the election: "That's history...get over it." I must be out of step with our pollies coz I still think that's arrogant even if true.

We've all read about dramatic rescues of animals large and small, trapped in various ways. Out of OZ comes this true story:

I think there is a M & S lesson in that for all of us! happy

The article said the bird became 'stuck' in a tree. How's that happen? That's funny.
.
Even if the men were successful in getting up the tree to the bird, the bird could easily move to another branch to escape capture. Ever watch a squirrel jump from branch to branch to escape a hawk?
.
Dumb and Dumber climbing a 65 foot high tree at night.
