This is hardly the first time we've dealt with constant disruptions of discussions, and by the same thread trasher. It was a constant problem for years on the general Forum.

But it takes two to tango. ANY response whatsoever to a trasher only fuels the problem, and indeed does discourage participation - thus ending the thread. Regular bloggers recommend 'Please don't feed the troll'. I don't even read a trasher's posts. I just "scroll past, real fast".
