» pink101 - Trashing Threads

.
I think the purposeful trashing of any thread is reprehensible.
.
To tell another human being that their ideas are nonsense, silly, and otherwise, unworthy of anything other than to be trashed should be heavily rebuked by the host of the site involved.
.
It has often been said that if a person doesn't like what is being posted, they should ignore it.
.
So, here's a scenario. The host of the site, creates a thread with an opening statement. Some participant comes into the thread and immediately begins to trash it so that no others want to get involved. Then this trashing participant declares the thread as finished, etc., etc.,
.
Does the host have a complaint? Is the host at fault for reacting to the trashing? Is not the trashing a form of rape? How do we get away with blaming the victim?
.
.
