Okay, I'll start a thread on the Nicene Creed, since there's universal agreement on its origin. We can start deconstructing that.

You have a fixation with 'deconstruction' it seems to me. happy

"So, do you think there is a chance that the parties involved do not want to clearly identify..."

I've referred to 'purpose' before. Much of it, as I read it focuses on process of Christianity, rather than program. If you feel 'Media' whatever that means, can be excluded from the deconstruct, then so can ethics, honesty et al and every other tool of human survival and probably flawed expression, as these are not the exclusive domain of 'Christianity'. Tis why I gave one example re the church's wealth. The point to list relates to what Christianity is not. And that went to my other point of how will we know it if we bump into it in the street.

I refer to misdeeds and instead, Boanerges talks sin. Because he, Brian, BJ and slightly possibly (TIC) Uncle Tom Cobbly and all here (except Migisi etc) probably may only want to deconstruct Christianity from its manifestly apparent Jesus base. What lessons to learn, what accolades to give etc. To them, that adds to the program although they may use another term.

If instead you wish to steer towards, for example, Jesus being less relevant to Christianity, for example...do you really expect an orderly discussion here. I actually believe no-one here can sustain a Christianity audit even with the best of goodwill. Why? They don't have all the answers but even I know that may not be an absolute truth. happy A joke, Boanerges!! happy

If one deconstructs a house wall first, the roof may fall-in. Pink proceeds??? If one deconstructs a cow, tis better to extract the bovine melena first I'm truly trying to see this issue from all sides, 3-plus...as per previous posts.

That's as close to second-guessing them as I need.

"Jeff.. according to the bible..."

Mate...The context I was seeking when I carefully chose Earthly misdeeds ie deliberately avoided sin, repentance et al was to try to seek some visible aspect that makes a Christian(ity) stand out from its fellow man. Do you recall my comment: By their misdeeds shall ye know them. How do we deconstruct what can't be visibly detected?

I read yesterday about the Aussie who was threatened with jail and deportation from the USA simply for saying "Fair Dinkum" aboard a Delta flight. Do you guys truly not understand us that much??!! Will deconstructing us help you out or is it too deeply, chronically entrenched. ABC happy

Actually, in coming down to the bottom line it doesn't make any difference if we want to deconstruct Christianity or not. We will and we are. It's what most of these discussion threads are all about, isn't it?

Hmm... seems extreme... Yes, breakdown Fair Dinkum so we can have a better understanding of it...

I remember when I was living in France, I told one of the guys the statement - son of a bitch... Here in the states, its not as severe as it looks.. We do not think you truly are a son of a bitch, but that its more of a phrase... The person I used that word with got very angry at me and never spoke to me again... He assumed I called his mother a bitch... But, in truth, the opposite had occurred....

Now, you can understand why post-post moderism has now passed and that we now are currently in the deconstruction era... basically have come full circle back to logos

Most of the topics you initiate or pursue with interest seem based on your version of 'deconstruction'. Most of my attempted input is to seek understanding by whatever method is employed...even trying to understand Yankee. happy Maybe I'm subconsciously deconstructive. But overall, tis not why I'm here...but then, my input doesn't incite ongoing discussion as successfully as you. So, by that measure, you have a better outcome. happy
