It is despicable and threatens to destroy the 'Net as a place of Free Speech.
.
I don't give a hoot how common it is. And, commonality is no excuse for the mistreatment of others.
.
It is one of the outstanding characteristic of such gorps as Bill O'Reilly and it is destroying unity in America.
.
I cannot berate it enough in my mind. A total denigration of anything Christian.
.
Now you have a small Idea of how I feel about it.

- The Christian Left
IS there such a thing as the Christian Left?
Definitely.
You don't hear that term very often, but if you define it as professing Christians who come down on the liberal or "progressive" side of political issues due to their Christian or religious convictions....then, yes, there DEFINITELY is a Christian Left.
Some figures on the "Christian Left" would include Jimmy Carter, Jim Wallis, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama, Coretta Scott King, etc., etc.

- Doctrine and Fundamentalists
It is the Fundamentalist branch of Christianity that includes the group of people who make it their business to actually read and study the Bible from a doctrinal point of view.
What's wrong with this?
Now, I'm not talking PUBLIC POLICY when I ask you that question. I understand I shouldn't do extensive biblical exegesis and then seek to impose by law my biblical interpretation on public policy. (Although, as a voting citizen, I can bring my moral convictions and biblical convictions to bear in the voting booth).
My question is more along the lines of CHURCH LIFE, COUNSELING, DAILY LIVING, etc.....
What's wrong with studying the Bible "from a doctrinal point of view"?
