So, that a child reared in an environment that teaches a supernatural existence would be more adaptive to belief in a god than one reared in a different environment.
.
Is faith or an awareness of spirit a part of being human, no matter how or where we're raised? We just may be 'wire' that way.
.
Are humans hard-wired for faith?

BTW, good Kabala article. Food for thought.

I remember a great poem by Walter Benton--This Is My Beloved:
.
"ENTRY April 28
Because hate is legislated . . . written into
the primer and testament,
shot into our blood and brain like vaccine or vitamins
Because our day of time, of hours --- and the clock-hand turns,
closes the circle upon us; and black timeless nitght
sucks us in like quicksand, receives us totally ---
without a raincheck or a parachute, a key to heaven or the last long look
I need love more than ever now . . . I need your love,
I need love more than hope or money, wisdom or a drink
Because slow negative death withers the world and only yes
can turn the tide
Because love has your face and body . . . and your hands are tender
and your mouth is sweet ---- and God has made no other eyes like yours"
.
-----------------------------
Don't take it personal; but, think about it in the context of your post.
.
If you're interested in the poem, here is the link:

.
It's a beautiful poem. I first found it in 1955 in a little bookstore in Canton, Ohio.

I am indeed living it.. happy

I thought the article was well written. I've never been to Afghanistan, let alone with full military gear. But least when I read that article, I could grasp the message..... the irony is - which was done without the 5 senses....

Do our five senses really provide us with a picture of the world that surrounds us?

I say - yes. because, after reading the article, I got the picture of the world that surrounded 'them'.. and I grasped their story.....

In fact, as far as the sense go, today here in KC, with the heat index, it was 107...... same as yesterday.sad And Saturday is predicted to be 100 with index of 110.... I'll be at the pool.. maybe they might have WyFi there.. if so I might just log on....

100 is okay if you don't have to be out in it working.
.
It's nice to laze around in the sun and get back in the shade once in a while.

I took two of my grand children along with a student guest in from France to the country fair today. While we were sitting in a food tent having a coke, I heard her say to herself as she looked out over the scene, America.
.
heh heh
.
Our temps were only in the mid 90s. Great day for the fair.

My only trip abroad was a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas. The temps were hotter than hell. On the beach, there was an open-air hut with towels hanging for sale. I'd forgotten mine in my room, so I hopped over to the hut. I hopped because the sand was scorching the soles of my feet! The sales clerk in the hut was wearing a WOOL TURTLENECK SWEATER ~and~ a KNIT VEST!! I was stunned and amazed. Here I was, sweating like a race horse in a bathing suit (hee hee, picture ~that~). But there wasn't one bead of perspiration on her. I asked the silly question, "Aren't you hot?" She smiled and answered, "No, darlin'. Dis is our winter."
