» Brian Tubbs - Calling a spade a spade

Most of you have seen my YouTube video on the Founders and slavery. Well, one of the people who commented on the video made a slanderous, vulgar and baseless charge against George Washington. slept with his female slaves. I called the person an idiot. Personally, I think I called a spade a spade. BUT...it was not very Christian for me to do so. Certainly not very pastorly.

I don't "call anyone 'despicable'" just off hand--if at all. Their behavior, maybe. And, I am almost positive I've never called you despicable for not reprimanding anyone. Please show me the post so I can put your comment in context.

But, you write, Wendell IS much more aggressive and combative in his postings that I am. But I am not going to start officially reprimanding people for having personalities with which I am personally uncomfortable. Wendell is an aggressive online debater. (I know you don't like the term 'debater.' Insert 'arguer' if you like). He has a right to be that way. Again, if he starts to use abusive or profane language, that's a different story. I've only seen ONE instance of his doing that, and it's not been here in the Protestantism section. (My emphasis)

Please answer this question. Do you consider continuous and obviously purposeful misrepresentation to be abusive?

I do understand.. However, I did not call Phil an uneducated fool. My reference was general and specific...

As far as I am concerned, your charges are unfounded. Wendell has adjusted fairly well to this particular new Suite format and you have probably noticed that he and I seemed to have worked out with each other a way to discuss without all the pushing and shoving of the past. If you count up all the actual name calling like the sarcastic heading in this thread, you should be asking him to excuse some of your behavior.

It is time to show a little respect for the leadership here in the threads, and to try to listen to level headed counsel.

I want this over with for once and for all time so we can get on with being reasonable and so Wendell will stop his projective bosh. I do my best not to misrepresent others and I expect that same respect for my self. It is past time to put an end to the foolishness that is so much a part of what goes on here with Wendell and his attitude of superiority. He is testing you, don't you realize that? It is one of the main characteristics of the persona he presents hereabouts. He has done it repeatedly with several others.

You need to re-read... However, if you believe Darby is the father of Dispensationalism, then not only is this not true, but is in fact a lie, then you are propagating a lie. Now, you have the information, so you are not in the dark on this subject.

If you happen to fall into my classification, then so be it. But, you could also admit you are wrong with your false claims and face the fact the it is not a fact, nor a truth, and is in fact, foolish to claim such a thing..

Certainly you do not want to fall is the classification of - educated fools?.....

Come on Phil.. you know as well as I Darby is not the father of dispensationism. Yet, you continue to spread such a lie. My question (not seeking an answer) is why? I can only surmise that its you intentional decision to claim an untruth...

Continuing in such brings a person into the liar classification. But, don't feel bad.. I've lied before myself. I believe we are all liars at one time or another...

But.. to continually propagate a lie is not only foolish, but makes one an intentional liar.

Now then.. I do not want to think of you as such, nor do I in other affairs.. But, in this subject, its becoming obvious....

Thank you Brother Jones.. I've tried to 'get in line' with these old patriarchal liberals as of late....

But.. I have heeded your advice, as well as Brian's - and find it to be a truth. However, all I ask is that you don't get mad at me for saying it the way it is. I am not afraid to call something, or someone, foolish or ignorant (ignorant means lacking knowledge)..... Foolish is self-explanatory... We have all been foolish in times past, in times present, and I am confident in times to come. In fact, lying addresses all kinds of issues when it pertains to law and order. So, my thinking is - don't be foolish, nor ignorant.. check everything out.... make sure it is true.

As far as Darby is concerned.. Indeed it is a false claim to say that he is the father of dispensationalism from the 1800's to today. No.. The Apostle Paul clearly used the specific word, and in Greek simply means.. 'a specific arrangement or system by which something is dispensed'. It is obvious that a dispensation is given between the OT and the NT.. (as an overview example....
Law vs Liberty...Israel (OT) vs the Church (NT).. etc..)

If you want to hold to such a false position, not only would you be a liar - but you would be a fool as well. I will however drop the uneducated part because you have already told us that you are not uneducated - and I do believe you to be at least knowledgeable - since after all it is your attempted claim, even though you denied it outright - but that - I had to search the archives because of the fact that for the last 5 years this has been your constant and repeating position - even though you forgot that you did in fact make such a statement - as I quoted above - but that you denied it several times, making such a fuss.

So then, you lied about that (but passed it off as being old and forgetful, but full of knowledge that has since passed into the dustbin of time) - and now - you lie about something as easy to discuss as dispensationalism (meaning, in my experience, it takes about 10 minutes to discuss such a subject).

Now then, you may (but apparently not) wonder why people would find this foolish? Or even.... that someone would have the audacity to call out such a person. I mean, gosh.. can't we all just get some Kabbalah and sit back and forget about our past lives and rejoice about such things because we are chieving enlightenment!

As a result, these last 5 years, you know good and well that the Bible specifically mentions 'dispensation' and that it was the Apostle Paul who stated such. But - all you can really do, in reality and in truth - is to simply deny that Paul wrote anything - which then would become another form of an irrational position (arguing against something you do not believe to be true to begin with - which is called a Fallacy, which is why I call it an 'irrational' statement (hence, look up LOGIC in the dictionary)...

But... Rather than defending an un-denfendable position, you're attempting to do as all those do when they have nothing meaningful to add, or explain, or educate, or enlighten, etc,etc.. but would rather concentrate on irrational emotions, as it concerns mainly personal feelings and ego... (example: oh my gawd, you hurt my feelings and integrity (suggesting you are not a liar (which is a person who lies - such as you have done, even in this thread). This syndrome - others call it intolerance because hey - they hold a relative moral truth and no one can be called a liar or fool even if they are such. I have since termed this the babble syndrome.

Remember, I can do that because I am smart, and oh, good looking, and oh yes, wear a white coat, and also, stick a piece of paper on the wall to show off my newly purchased PHD.. Now, that cannot be foolish, or a lie.. Even if it were, according to you, you cannot tell anyone such a thing! .....

So, why are you arguing anyway?.... next question
