Censorship is not involved where subscriptions are required.

Individuals have a right to associate with each other on the basis of their interests without interference by some pest who surfaces with the desire to disrupt any process involved.

Suite101.com has the soft ware capacity to exclude any person from participation using a subscription method such as management uses in its Writers' Forum.

My recommendation is for a "Subscribers' Forum" to be its own site like Protestantism, History, Great Thinkers, and all the others that are sites set apart by interest. It would be an addition and no one would be required to attend it.

No censorship would be involved. But, participation would be controlled as it is in the Writers' Forum.

Perhaps the idea can be brought up at the Writers' Forum?

Various subjects could be addressed through articles and subscribers could discuss those in which they found any interest.

In todays world.. it would be suicide... However, having a "subscribers" section could be a good idea.... The goal is to bring readers - not section off those who do not want to hear others opinions... Which is what this site is about.. and - free of charge... advertising is what brings home the bacon

Personally.. I do not retain much respect for your "intellectual perspective".. In fact, I find you to be one of the most confusing orators I have ever come across.... But hey.. in my objectivity... I am able to handle that and put off my bias to have a discussion ... I've come to the conclusion that [you] are unable to do this - as verified through your above statement..... You might want to consider finding someplace that when you preach, the choir is on the edge of their chairs.. You are free to do such a thing....

If that is true, then you've made an hypocritical statement...

Only in a "subscribers area" would you be applauded for such a silly statement.

In the open and free world, you would be asked to clarify such statements..... and asked to ponder such a contradiction... Now, thats being "objective".. ey...?

I'm thinking that you'd have to categorize the Think Tanks into various areas - public policy, science, etc. And then you'd have to bring to bear some of the same standards and practices that characterize academic peer review.

That's why I recommend a subscription so that pests can be excluded.

I am very surprised that you take the time to rebuke me for what I have posted; but, that you don't lift a finger to even try to bring him into line. Needling, indeed. His actions are outright attempts to close down and to otherwise bring discredit discussions. And, he is generally successful. Partly due to your hands off policy with him.
