I think--during these trying times where Religionism is gaining such a strong hand in our culture--the only thing we CAN do is to talk about it.
.
Agree... most importantly, talk to our children, and let them talk too. Without judging them, let them tell us what ~they~ think and feel. Some of them have special insight.

Talking with children teaching that curiosity is a valuable asset for their development and growth is very important.
.
It is also important we learn to doubt our own beliefs.
.
Doubt is an important tool for learning.

Hello, Jones. I didn't forget about your questions. I'm going to rely on this author to explain.

Well, you came back with a lot of words not your own from a non-Christian (i think) who contradicts the life and ministry of Jesus. You won't ever be able to run low on those who believe that their information about God is more reliable than Christ's. Your post demonstrates the principle. But it didn't seem very personal or passionate about your god. At least to me it didn't.

By ~your~ post, it appears to me that you can't find any passion in any spiritual concepts that don't focus exclusively and continually on Jesus hanging dead on a cross. That's what I meant earlier by 'myopic' ("lacking tolerance or understanding; narrow-minded" - dictionary.com).

Goodness gracious. Now you are putting words and thoughts that I am supposed to be having. I thought I was the only one who atttempted that. You are pretty good at it. I guess what you wrote is sorta true. Thinking thoughts about God is a key concept, and what it is that you think about. Since dying on the Cross is not really your thing, what is it that really turns you on about your God?

Let's get to it.

If you can, expand your vision and look around. When you do, you'll see what turns me on. ONE will show you.

.
A big difference between Protestant churches and Catholic is the fact that the Protestant cross has no Jesus on it while the Catholics display a dead one.

... Catholics display a dead one.
.
Imagine seeing ~that~ as a wee one. A life-sized half-naked dead man, feet and hands nailed to a cross, blood pouring from his forehead and side - his mother weeping at his feet, but no father anywhere.
.
Seeing dead Jesus hanging on a cross, or hearing the crucifixion story retold endlessly during services - what impressions might a little one get from this imagery?
