I DEMAND that you refrain from answering Wendell's questions. Whose demand will you comply with? Must you comply with anyone's demand for answers? Nope. "You have the right to remain silent..." (wink)

Guess.
.
The argument the Religionists want to win has to do with the Isms of Religion and the Secular.
.
They want Religionism to win out over Secularism. They usually vie for a sectarian state under God, Allah, or Jehovah. See our Pledge of Allegiance to The Flag.
.
That seems obvious to me.
.
Do you see that as a looming problem in our culture?

In response to A Spin Is A Lie! posted by pink101:

if you have read the definitions, you know that your questions don't make sense.

yes.. it is true.. your statements make no sense.. the questions asked were directly from your statements...

you can remain silent, for sure.. I cannot see how possibly you can justify your statements when its quite obvious they do not add up to the empirical evidence...!

so yes.. such statements are easily dismissed as rhetoric and propaganda.. the - religionism of the day!....

Phil: "a Religionist would be a person that seeks to impose their beliefs on the greater society through the application of its law and laws on the greater society".

Abortion is legal. therefore, according to you: [the] Religionist [have] [imposed] their beliefs on the greater society through the application of its law and laws on the greater society.

Conclusion: what religion has done that?
Answer: It cannot be Christianity, for it OPPOSES abortion.

It's great to see a person of such humility who is able to recognize the errors of his own ways.
.
Congratulations on standing tall and admitting that you have been wrong.
.
I'm sure everyone here will be very impressed.
.
It takes a big person to admit to error. Good for you, Wendell.
.
So many times, I have seen pig headed people making brash statements based on unsubstantiated premises like you did in your post; but, very seldom do they have the courage to admit to their failure as you have done. Very good.

So many times, I have seen pig headed people making brash statements based on falsified premises like you did in your post; but, very seldom do they have the courage to admit to their failure as you have done. It will be very good for you to admit to that.
.
There you stand, in front of God and everyone else, making the following falsification as though it were the truth.
.
Wenell writes, "Phil [claims]: 'a Religionist would be a person that seeks to impose their beliefs on the greater society through the application of its law and laws on the greater society'.
.
And, he makes this falsification of the facts along with an unsubstantiatable leap in logic, "Abortion is legal. therefore, according to you: [the] Religionist [have] [imposed] their beliefs on the greater society through the application of its law and laws on the greater society.
"Conclusion: what religion has done that?

"Answer: It cannot be Christianity, for it OPPOSES abortion."

.
Wendell, you expose yourself as a falsifier in your attempt to make your point. Only the most ignorant of people would accept the erroneous logic you have laid down. Shame on you.
.
Maybe my previous post will be seen as premature?
.
happy

You are too transparent for words, Wendell.

Yes, and no.
.
Yes
I've been following this issue:
.
Inquiry Sought Over Evangelical Video -
Defense Department Asked to Examine Officers' Acts Supporting Christian Group

December 11, 2006
.
(quote) "A military watchdog group is asking the Defense Department to investigate whether seven Army and Air Force officers violated regulations by appearing in uniform in a promotional video for an evangelical Christian organization.
.
"In the video, much of which was filmed inside the Pentagon, four generals and three colonels praise the Christian Embassy, a group that evangelizes among military leaders, politicians and diplomats in Washington. Some of the officers describe their efforts to spread their faith within the military.
.
"Weinstein, a White House lawyer in the Reagan administration, cites Defense Department regulations barring personnel from appearing in uniform in "speeches, interviews, picket lines, marches, rallies or any public demonstration . . . which may imply Service sanction of the cause for which the demonstration or activity is conducted."
...
"All the officers are identified in the video by their Defense Department positions, "yet the video failed to include any disclaimers indicating that the views expressed were not those of the Department of Defense," the letter says."... (end)

No
And then common sense and secular military rules prevail:
.
DoD Inspector General Finds Fault In Military Support of Christian Embassy
Friday, August 03, 2007
.
(quote) "In a press release issued today, Military Religious Freedom Foundation founder Mikey Weinstein drew attention to a July 20 report by the Department of Defense Inspector General that found wrongdoing in connection with the appearance by military officials in a video promoting Christian Embassy. (See prior posting.) The Inspector General's Report (full text) found that seven military officers violated various military regulations through their actions:
.
"The seven officers participated in interviews with Christian Embassy, excerpts of which were also included in the promotional video. The officers were filmed during the duty day, in uniform with rank clearly displayed, in official and often identifiable Pentagon locations. Their remarks conferred approval of and support to Christian Embassy, and the remarks of some officers implied they spoke for a group of senior military leaders rather than just for themselves. None of the officers sought or received approval to participate in the interview in an official capacity or in uniform....
.
"Chaplain Benson requested and obtained limited approval for Christian Embassy to film in the Pentagon by mischaracterizing the purpose and proponent of the video. His request implied that the video was being produced to document the Pentagon chaplain's ministry rather than to promote a non-Federal entity...." (end)
[Read more here: http://religionclause.blogspot.com/2007/... ] (Go to the site for the '(full text)' link to the 47 page DOD Inspector General's official conclusion).

» pink101 - Warning To New Readers

.
We have been warned about the Web.
.
We know that there are wolves lurking all over the place willing and ready to give falsified information to gain followers and support for their ideologies.
.
We have come to a place in the history of our culture where it is fashionable to put intelligent inquiry down in favor of ignorance as the standard of knowledge.
.
We have seen--in these threads--intelligent approaches put down in favor ignorance and something called "faith" as though the latter were a superior foundation for understanding.
.
Faith is a wonderful characteristic in its place; but, to use it to over rule the scientific method is something of great concern.
.
Wendell has gained a respectable knowledge of the Web and in how it works. And, one thing about him is that he has little regard for the truth. So, beware of what he has to say when he claims to be reporting the truth.
.
Other than that, he CAN be a decent person.
.
Obviously, I wouldn't post this warning to any new readers if it weren't that I have been victimized by his lies and misrepresentations. Adding to that is the fact that some respected persons who participate here seem to be unable to bring Wendell to task for his misrepresentations.
.
