Could you be nice just for once?

Or do you constantly have to put those people down who don't get in line?

Jeff said "who doesn't use 'intellectual' as a put-down wonders when the substance of the argument was lost by both"

it was lost from the beginning with the one who has a predilection to claim his intellect, but that, in reality, his emotion is the only thing driving the intellectual train....
as you read through the threads where you have conversation, you will see that any response you cannot overcome, or answer, is responded with emotional outbursts.. and not, well thought out "intellectual" exegesis....

Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

» _Boanerges_ - intellect? or...

I said.. (from the link provided in this thread)

..."you declare the bible was written to overrule th[e] [pharisees] - overcome them is basically [the] mantra [you expose]. However, [Kaballah] is acceptable as learning from [according to you], yet was written in secret and by the same "select" authorities that you rejected to.. yet.. you stand here and say things like "shut your big mouth" and "spin".. and....

Do you NOT realize exactly how foolish and silly you sound when teaching others about spirituality[?] You cannot tell the difference between the ones you accept as "mystical, highly educated and spiritual, from those who are termed as [authorities]. You accept one and deny the other. ARE YOU an IDIOT or simply a confused simpleton?

[idiot: 1. an utterly foolish or senseless person.]

[ simpleton: A person who is felt to be deficient in judgment, good sense, or intelligence; a fool.]

my thoughts are as such.. you need some simple educational courses in LOGIC - before you can enter the mind of heart and soul and life and death and that - which is - is.... and which is not - is not.

------------------------------------------------------

hopefully, this record will refresh you memory loss! happy (but - somehow I doubt it.. Reason: the intellect cannot comprehend!

Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be

When I was a boy I got a tin top for Christmas one year.
.
It was made with a plunger on top that caused the top to spin when I pushed the plunger down and up in a pumping motion.
.
Not only were the colors of the top exciting to a little boy; but, the top had holes it it that caused a musical sound--sort of a humming. The faster the spin the more the sound. And, there some mechanism inside that caused other sounds. I remember trying to see how fast I could make it spin as I pumped the plunger harder and harder. Finally I would let it go and it would race around the room bumping into chairs and it would dart off in another direction until if finally ran out of energy.
.
You remind me of that top.

That's another thread over there that you are referencing in your post. Would you like to bring this thread to an end so we can discuss your favorite subject or would you like to reactivate your dialog in that thread?

Speaking of choices.

So, I get to be either an idiot or a simpleton.

You're a gem, Wendell.
.
At least I have much more respect for you than you display for those who won't get into your short line of admirers.
.
Your posts say so much more about you than you imagine.

P.S.
Is this one of those Emotional Outbursts you are talking about?

point #1: "You remind me of that top".

answer: The intellect does not concentrate on how or why, one likes another (or not) when making a determination of truth.
(hence: emotional outbursts)

point #2: So, I get to be either an idiot or a simpleton. You're a gem, Wendell.

you get? hehe.. no.. Ive only stated that you present yourself as such. In my inner thoughts, I was hoping you would let go of that plunger... but alas, the intellectual is overcome with emotional outbursts, resulting in their vain speculations and worthless analysis.

point #3: At least I have much more respect for you than you display for those who won't get into your short line of admirers.

Intellectual wisdom is not rooted in how much respect one has for another person. The intellect is seeking only empirical exegesis. (hence, when those are not found, the emotional intellect resumes...)

Results: All intellectuals I have met, or seen, or have heard, are foolish and ignorant.... In the end, it IS the simple man that becomes wise... And wisdom - is elusive to the intellect - by nature.

point #4 Your posts say so much more about you than you imagine.

I know happy

Well then, would it not be easier to simply answer the question put forward to you? By not answering the question - demonstrates that those who make a profession of [something] without [substantiating] the claim - results in coming off foolish and ignorant..... So then.. what road will he(you) choose (thinking out loud)..?

hmmm....

I believe it is possible that the [true] wise person can understand the babble that comes from the self-professed "intellectual"... It goes beyond circular hypocrisy... One only needs to research the word - predilection.. (which has been provided - already)...

----------------------------------------------------------

what road will he choose?...... (as he vainly avoids the intellectual dilemma he has boxed himself into... The ego denies the thinking mind to choose the right path... thus, the intellectual remains - deaf, dumb and blind - even professing as such!)....
