I very much doubt the taxpayer will escape unscathed. The corporation trading as the Catholic Church of Australia pays a percentage of its profits to Rome. A part of the Catholic gamble is to get zero truancy like the Pentecostals are doing here ie more bums on seats.

We currently have about 5000(?) sailors off the Kitty Hawk here for 5 days or so so rumours are rife they'll overspend while they're here. They won't be gambling on getting fair dinkum good ol Aussie hospitality as its a given. But it'd be silly not to bump up the prices on everything while they're here. The gamble in the quick buck.
