Each one of us is gifted with life itself--the most precious of all gifts as everything else depends on it.

First, there is life.
.
What is it and how do we place our focus on it?
.
Life probably always was and it probably will always be in some form or another. That's as much as we know for sure. There will be scoffers who will claim to possess some absolute truth..
.
If we were to trace our ancestry back far into our distant primal existence, then we might be able to recognize that we are a continuation of that being--something that always was and that will continue on into the future with or without our conscious awareness. We--most likely--are all derived from the exact same being so that it can be said that we are divergents of the same exact life form. God?
.
Here's the foundation of a small piece of logic. Human beings procreate as a result of a microscopic part of their own being called a gamete. The gamete contains all the programs of our physical identity and it mates with the gamete of another human being that contains all the programs of that person's physical identity. For all we know, the gametes may also contain the keys to the mental activity of each contributor to the new being that is formed in the womb of the host.

In and of itself, this is the greatest and most important miracle of our existence. But, one thing is for sure, we--each and every one of us--is the continuation of two human beings out of the primal mists of some long forgotten past.
.
We could think about these things and how they impinge on our being as some fact of objective reality or we can take any of several alternative views. And, what we do can be seen as the focus we place on our existence in this experience we call life.
.
What difference does our focus make regarding the quality of our being in thjis something we call life?
.
Sooner or later, humanity must put its focus on this point of being. If we decide to do it, we can put our focus on it now. Or, we can continue shuffling around in the dark as though we know what we're doing--playing blind man's bluff.

Ever read the book or see the movie "Altered States" (both written by Paddy Chayefsky)? Very worthwhile.

And I'm sure you've read the theories on collective unconsciousness and collective intelligence. Fascinating stuff to ponder.
