- Divine inspiration
But to proclaim that ANY ancient religious literature - written by men - is the wholly inspired, literal, and infallible word of an ancient god, and it's the 'absolute truth'? That's way outside the bounds of logic and rational thought, IMO.
It is a step BEYOND logic and rational thought, but not "way outside of it" and not necessarily inconsistent with it either.
At the end of the trail of evidence and logic comes a step of faith that God calls us to take. However, it's my contention that Christianity is a plausible and credible faith system. Thus, the faith of a Christian need not be a blind, wishful leap in the dark. Mine certainly is not.
