This isn't really so counter to Christianity--God created all that is and therefore all things manifest God/God's creative genius (or love or energy).
Well, I guess. Sorta. It is like 2 and 2 almost makes 5. Great wisdom and knowledge almost makes for a life. But then along comes the great Buddha, who really was off the chart in a lot of ways and it doesn't quite work for me. I don't see the evil in life or in my own life as illusion or a tad unreal. Solomon said it pretty well when he said in Ecc 1:16-18:
16 I thought to myself, "Look, I have grown and increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge." 17 Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.
18 For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief.
Then along came Jesus with a very real opponent in the New Testament called Satan. So Western Civilization is a bit more concerned with sin, war, Satan, and the demons. That is the addition that adds up to 5 which sometimes makes God look cruel and parents seem a bit hostile when they spank their kids.
i am just an oldtimer for the Lord.
