Is he 'par' - the norm or usual standard? I think not. Way ~below~ par, IMO - and according to public opinion polls.

We've got the president we deserve just like we've got the war we deserve and the congress we deserve.

Why do we "deserve" any of the above?

Our political party system is the main problem.
How can we possibly break out of that?

Only one way I know... research every country's government system, and move to the one we like most. We can apply as political refugees.
