In my world, people start out with 100% respect, and can only lose points by their own doing.

Our govenment leaders have lost the respect and trust of the majority - not just me. Consider the current ratings they've received. They - Repubs and Dems alike - have shown themselves to be liars. Can anyone 'reason' with liars?
