In my world, people start out with 100% respect, and can only lose points by their own doing. . Our govenment leaders have lost the respect and trust of the majority - not just me. Reasoning leads to accepting differences leads to some decisions needing to be made that are not universally tolerable. If we all await consensus so that only warm and fuzzy decisions are only ever made in our favour, can we at least agree that those who DO sit down and reason together, do so on our behalf. But can you really trust them? I'm really just an onlooker to this discussion.
