We haven't been able to reason together ever since Bush stole the election... It's hight time we begin to reason.

I couldn't agree more. But the damage can't be undone. Ya can't put a spent bullet back in the gun barrel.

In my world, people start out with 100% respect, and can only lose points by their own doing.

Our govenment leaders have lost the respect and trust of the majority - not just me. Consider the current ratings they've received. They - Repubs and Dems alike - have shown themselves to be liars. Can anyone 'reason' with liars?

Well...sorta. happy The term is 'Crikey' without the ick and it's not really considered an expletive here which I'm guessing is what you intended with 'explitice'. ABC

Reasoning leads to accepting differences leads to some decisions needing to be made that are not universally tolerable. If we all await consensus so that only warm and fuzzy decisions are only ever made in our favour, can we at least agree that those who DO sit down and reason together, do so on our behalf. But can you really trust them?

I'm really just an onlooker to this discussion. Please carry on. happy

» Migisi - 100% Respect

In response to 100% Respect posted by pink101:

.
Hmm. It's so easy for those who managed to weasel out of military service to send others abroad to die, ay?
.
Just FYI for parents of high school kids:
Army Uses Aggressive Tactics to Recruit Teenagers
http://usliberals.about.com/od/homelands...
(quote)
"High School Campus Recruiting Buried in President Bush's much-touted No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 was Section 9528, a requirement that all public and private high schools receiving federal funds must "provide access to students' names, addresses and phone numbers" to military recruiters. It also mandates that high schools must allow military recruiters the same campus access to students as is granted to college recruiters and prospective employers.
.
"High schools that don't comply with these requirement will lose federal funding, which would likely force closure of the school. The only exceptions to this law are private schools that can prove a "verifiable historical historical objection to military service."
...
"Parents may opt out of allowing their students' data from being released to military recruiters by signing an optional form. However, many parents are unaware of the optional form, and many schools have not made the form readily available to parents." (end quote)
.
Nobody at my son's high school ever mentioned this 'opt out' form to me.
