But, pondering any context with your references to learning from history and what each society ought to commit to, I am a tad underwhelmed with his: "They hate us because of who we are and what we represent." and "don't you ever forget it" type of thinking he wants you to commit to. The enduring ethical dilemna of pure motives vs bad actions??? Who knows what the true sides to this 3+ sided coin are but a perception someone is the perpetual enemy becomes an entrenched reality unless...? There is no empirical evidence profound hope alone works for mankind, is there? -- posted by redback » _Boanerges_ - profound hope alone In response to Truth about our Enemy posted by redback:

-- posted by redback » pink101 - Truth about our Enemy In response to Truth about our Enemy posted by BrianTubbs:. Why did you make this post with no comment and only a link to Townhall.com? . Here's a quote from the article, "Those afflicted with this line of thinking not only believe it is our actions and policies that cause terrorists to hate us, but that many of those actions and policies are indeed objectionable." . The affliction is the idea that people who don't march to the drumbeat of the right wingist lines are the perennially oblivious ones that think the Jihadists would go away if the U.S. would just change its ways in the Middle East. . That's a foolish position for author Limbaugh to present and it is nothing more than a twisted spin away from reality. . The radical Islamists are like the radical Christianists and the radical Judaists--no different. It is not the radicals we need to fear; although they ARE PART of the ones fueling the fires of hatred. Religious radicalism in the U.S.A. has risen to the level of idiocy expressed by religious radicalism in the World of Islam and whole legions of sympathizers have gone off the edge to join the radical extremes in all three worlds. The sympathizers are the dupes of a far more sinister force. . So, in the final analysis, it IS the combination of religious radicals from all the worlds that are creating our present world wide troubles. . But, even so, the roots of the problem go much deeper. This is only the surface that is scratched. What is the underlying cause of our problems if it isn't the drive to build a new world order--a new empire to which everyone must bow? And, if we are to know the "truth about our Enemy" where will we look? Who or what groups are those ones that so shamelessly buy our representatives in our government? . . -- posted by pink101 » _Boanerges_ - profound hope alone In response to profound hope alone posted by redback:
