We already do this through Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and a host of other services. We also force those of us who do not believe in war to support the military.

My curiosity made me wonder what anyone might think of the people who passed by on the other side of the road in the story of the Good Samaritan that is recounted in the Bible.
