» Feature Writer Brian Tubbs - How about that Chavez?

Let's pray for the people of Venezuela.

For anyone who hadn't YET seen it (I saw it a long time ago), Hugo Chavez has shown his colors. He's nothing but a socialist, totalitarian despot out for power.

While I don't endorse any nutty, extremist suggestions like that of Pat Robertson, I hope Chavez' days in power are numbered. It will be a good day for Venezuela and freedom when he steps down.

You and Pat Robertson.

My prayer is that we get to learn the truth about the problems that seem to be surfacing. I've read some good background on Venezuela and I know about the agitation and upset being sponsored by the big oil corporations.

There is a lot of covert action in Venezuela by corporate interests that are so upset over Chavez's nationalization of Venezuela's natural resources. You can sure betcha that the international bankers are licking their wounds and that they want Chavez on a stick. There is a long tradition of religious people giving support to big money.

I do not respect or follow Pat Robertson, and I made it clear in my post that I don't support any of his nutty suggestions. For you to link me with him in spite of that is an offensive cheap shot, and says something about your ability (or lack thereof) to discuss Venezuela rationally.

Hey, I can do it! You seem to be the one with the problem.
.
When you remarked that it would be good to see Chavez step down, all I said was, "You and Pat Robertson.".
.
How does that link you to his theories?

Robertson wanted the US to assassinate the guy. I've never called for anything remotely like that. I simply think he should step down.

The United States will not be launching a war against Iran or Venezuela. Our resources and armed forces are much too stretched for that, and you know it. And Iran knows it too - which is why it's being so uncooperative.

I'm not going to be dragged into a hypothetical never-ender with you. However, I'm a chaplain candidate in the US Army Reserve. So, as an officer in the US Army Reserve, I stand by my country - and do so proudly!

I don't see you standing by your country so much so that you are being loyal to the Bush administration as a member of the military. You could easily jeopardize your position if you were to speak truth to power.
.
I'm not going to be dragged into a hypothetical never-ender with you.

But, so far as that statement of yours is concerned, it seems that YOU are the one who is keeping the argument alive with your brash comments that make such absolute claims of truth where you hardly have a leg to stand on.

Don't for get what the Bible has to say about pride.
.
When I was in the Marines, we didn't have the vote--we hadn't been politicized like the military is today. Men like Eisenhower stood full square against politicization of the military.
